I had a very wet drive home tonight in 257 miles of mostly hard rain.

Several times during the trip the IACC, Lane Centering and Pre-Collision would all shut off with the error "Sensor Blocked" and they would not restart even after turning off the ACC and turning it back on.

I stopped the car and checked the radar panel and it was wet but clear. Shutting the car off got it going for 3 or 4 minutes then it faulted again.

It made for a very long drive.

I'll be talking to my dealer tomorrow about this. they should also have the headlamp in to get my car completely fixed.

I have heard that these technologies may not function in heavy rain, that it’s a limit of the current technology when heavy rain obscures the sensors that they can’t get past it, which is why a reset wouldn’t really fix the issue if the rain has not let up. Would be interested to hear what the dealer makes of it though.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Multiple errors when wet 2BE80858-BB9F-4634-BE2B-F9F440D55580

This warning appears in every section of the Advanced Driver Assist descriptions in the user manual. It’s still a car. If your visibility is limited, so is the cars.

If you had been out of the rain for a while and it was still causing problems, perhaps there is some water intrusion somewhere or the roads were just too wet for the camera’s to see the lane markings.

It wasn't intermittent interruptions like I would have expected. It was total system shutdown of those features.

I have had Fords with ACC before that never acted like this.

Our Pilot does that with snow, system will stay down until a restart if the sensor is blocked.
