My 2021 Mach E (30,000 miles) was throwing multiple errors at me for over a week (Hill Start Assist Not Available, Lane-Keeping System Off, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Service AdvanceTrac, Shift System Fault Service Required). Often times I would turn off the car and turn it back on and the errors would disappear, then come back after a few miles of driving. I decided to take it in for service at the Ford dealership where I bought the car, this was on 3/13/2025. 2 weeks go by, and they told me they had to update all the modules on the car to fix it (all covered under warranty). They said they test drove it and they didn't get any errors. I went to pick it up and drove it about 1/4 mile and I got all the same errors again. I drove it right back to the dealership and told them that they need to fix the problem.

Two days ago, 3/31/25, I texted the dealership and they said they were going through an acquisition, from Groove to Autonation, and that they were transferring computer systems. They said I could expect to have my car back by this weekend. Fast forward to today, 4/2/25. I texted the dealership and asked for an update and I get this text back: "Good morning, it is in the bay and cab will be off today for the cell replacement", verbatim. What the hell does that even mean? I'm guessing they're doing something with the HV battery, which would mean that I'm likely not getting the car back by this weekend. This whole thing has been very frustrating. I hope the car isn't there for a couple months like some people in this forum.

Has your 12v battery been replaced yet? This is my third EV, but whenever the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree with a bunch of disparate seemingly unrelated errors on my EVs so far, it always came down to that stupid 12v battery...

I'm not sure. I bought the car last summer, so it could have been replaced by the previous owner. I've read 100 times that it could be the 12V, so I texted the dealership and asked them to check the 12V battery and they said, "Just checked it looks like it's at 80% state of charge so battery is all good!". Then I told them that the 12v is a common culprit in these cases and they said "I don't think that would have anything to do with it especially since we've cleared codes and checked all of that the first time. I believe the next step was going to be checking wiring and narrowing it down from there".

I'm hoping that these techs know what they're doing. Would be a real damn shame if it was simply the 12V battery.

Sounds like either an issue with the low voltage power system or one or multiple CAN busses.

I vote for 12v battery failure. It is inexpensive for the battery, but a bit of a pain to actually replace it. The formal procedures call for removing the frunk bin, but I think others have found more efficient ways to replace it.
Any autoshop can test the battery capacity for you.

The plethora of warnings is always one of two things. You got an update and it needs a few key cycles to finish writing to all the modules. Or your 12V battery is low and may need to be replaced soon. Though the older my cars get I suspect he updates may be installing fine but running the 12V battery down a bit while they do, meaning there is only really one cause…. The 12V battery. Don’t have any idea what your dealer might be up to But it does sound skeTchy.
