Another problem is the overheating that now occurs on level 2 charging causes additional issues, such as door buttons and other chip-controlled items to fail, as well as warping of plastic elements on the driver's side nearest to the charging port. I have a warped door pillar now.
I've not read about it warping door pillars and other plastic elements on the driver's door. Do you have any pictures you can share?

We have a large contingent of Phoenix based forum members including @macchiaz-o and @SnBGC. I haven’t heard of warping pillars or such items from them due to heat. Perhaps they could comment but honestly, that genuinely sounds like a warranty item.

I'm wondering if the Grizzl-E's ship with a bad J1772 connector that makes a poor connection?

Try a different brand charger. If it still overheats then you need a new charge port.
Not likely.
I replaced the Grizzl-e with an Autel that was on sale and first I thought it worked as it charged for 2.5 hours at 40A. The next time I charged it, it failed at about 1.5 hours which is the same as the Grizzl-e.

The dealer informs me the parts are in to replace the charge port on the car. Stay tunned.

I just picked my Mach-e up from the service department, and they said a service bulletin is out for service departments not to replace the charge port unless they have a 48A charger available and follow several steps.

They have lied to me about a number of things, so if anyone hears something similar, please post here.

If that's true, then we are going to have a serious problem. I've run into overheating issues at anything over 32 amp, and the only level 2 I saw at my dealer was 30 amp. My car is now at my dealer waiting to be seen when their only EV certified tech gets back from vacation on Tuesday.

I have to have the ability to charge at level 2's set at 40 and 48amp. Why? Because I've reached hotels that only offer 48amp Tesla destination charging, and I can't step it down to 32 amps or less. This becomes a safety issue within the charging deserts of the Midwest. I depend on the ability to utilize any available level 2.

If my dealer can't test against this charging port fault, then how do I get this resolved? @Ford Motor Company

Oh, bullshit. No such bulletin exists. How convenient that they don't have a 48A charger?

I attached the tests for an overheating charge port. It just says use a 240V L2 charger, nothing about the amperage. If the pins in the port are damaged, you get a new port, don't need a heat test.

Oh, I know they are full of it. The first time it was in, they tried to say that they had no issues. I told them they didn’t use a 48A charger and how I knew based on the info from FordPass. They admitted they didn’t at that point.

They asked me to charge from home and tell them when it acted up, and they could replace it at that point, which is the latest visit.

This dealer had high ratings but has been nothing but awful for me. Took my Mach-E there for the windshield and roof recall. Kept it for 20 days with no explanation as to why. No broken glass or anything, just delayed at their body shop... and they damaged my hatch, which is taking 10 days and counting.

So in the last episode, I purchased a Autel charging unit to finally determine if it is the unit or the car. It was the car. I just got it back today, and they swapped out the charging port. It now works as it should. The dealer here has been great. The service tech comes out and explains what and why he did it. Their chargers are 32A, so I lent them mine with an adapter to plug into the socket used by their welder.

Only problem now is I have an extra charger. Grizzl-e. Grizzl-e had sent me a replacement to try, so I only used it 3 or 4 times. Any interest?

I still have a Grizzl-E charger that was used 3-4 times that I don't need. If interested send private message. The unit works great, the charge port on the MME was faulty.
