22 premium AWD EXTR: For the last 2 months i have been dealing with "Door Fault Service Required" and "Passenger Door Ajar" warnings. Late April dealer finally replaced senor. on front passenger as the warning was always popping up after it was used. Typically the door plunger wasn't activating. Was good for 3 weeks. Then last week started getting "Reverse Brake Assist not available, See manual", and "Front Parking Sensors not available, see manual" whenever i am in reverse and when i pull up behind somebody at stop sign or light. I have also been getting a "1-pedal drive fault, press brake pedal to reduce speed" while driving. This weekend while getting those last 3 mention errors (brake and 1-pedal), the warning for Door Fault has returned.

I've tried the different suggestions in other threads with regards to the Parking and Brake assist, but no fixes. With all of these errors coming at once, is it possible i have a larger issue than each of them separately. I have been really struggling with my dealer ship as they have typically been dropping it off in the morning (with and without appointments) to let them have it all day then getting a call at end of day stating they haven't gotten to it yet and asking if they can keep it overnight. Once i lost track of time at work and they didn't even call, and had to take an uber home -30 miles.

Guess i just needed to vent, but if anybody has any suggestions I'd like to hear them. Had the car for about 18 months and really like it, but these last 3 months have been a pain. i cant keep taking it in every 3 weeks, and then getting appointments 2-3 weeks out, and them keeping the car 2-3 days.

Hi Dawson! I can look into your Mach-E's door concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

I have the same exact issue with my ‘22 Mach E right now. “Door fault, service required.” I already scheduled an appt at my local Ford dealership. Please provide any further suggestions about this issue?

We just joined the club tonight with the door fault error. Anyone have any wisdom besides just take it to the dealer?

When it first popped up on mine I was able to use a screw driver in latch to lock it then use the door switch to lock and unlock it a couple times while it was open. That fixed it for a month. They replaced a control module in early April. It worked for 3 weeks then started happening again. The communication was so bad during this 1st attempt that on the 1st night of them having the vehicle they didn't call me to tell me they hadn't gotten it fixed, and i lost track of time at work and I had to borrow my bosses car.

This second time the I posted my original message, Ford reach out to me and I had a chat with the service department manager. I told them I could leave my car there all week as long as they or Ford paid for a rental car and gas while I was without my car. They didn't have any vehicles available for a week, so pushed it back this past week. Took it in last Monday and dropped it off to fix the door and the front sensor and braking assist messages, and got rental car. I got a call on Tuesday night it was fixed an could be picked up. Went and picked it up on Wednesday morning. Hopped in the car and it was still displaying the error. I read the paper work and there was a thorough explanation of how they trouble shot the front sensor error and fixed it, but there was no documentation regarding the door. I went back into the service deck and started to loose my cool on them pointing out that their own documentation didn't even indicate that they had addressed the door which was the main reason it was there. The person at the counter swore up and down that their tech wouldn't bring a car out of the shop while it was displaying an error (the same one it was in for) and release it back to the customer.

After I left, the counter person called a couple hours later and indicated that he, the tech, and service department manager went out to the car and could get it to clear, but then after a couple times of opening and closing the door the error would come back.. Ford called me on Friday afternoon indicating the dealer replaced the control module again on Friday morning, but were still getting the errors off and on. Ford told the dealer ship to escalate the issue with a case # and reach out to somebody at Ford this coming Monday to help trouble shoot and diagnose the issue.

II will post and update when I hear something.

Got my car back on last Tuesday, and the door fault popped up again today, but under completely different circumstances. Was looking at our parking lot out of the office window today during lunch, and I here a car horn going off. I look over and my headlights, blinkers and hazards are going off as well as the horn. Go to my desk to retrieve my phone and keys and there is a message from the ford app indicating that my cars security system has detected door opened and alarm triggered..

Take my phone and key out to the car. Get in it and start it up and the passenger door ajar warning and the door fault service required messages being displayed. I drove down to the dealership to schedule dropping it off next week, and when backing up it also now displays Reverse brake assist no available. see manual.

So we start another round of this next week.

Dropped the car off yesterday and they indicated they are going to try a hail mary and replace a wiring harness.

Update: When i dropped it off last Monday they made it sound as if they had ordered the wiring harness and would have it last week, but being a holiday week they may not get it installed until end of last week or early this week. I drove by a couple time last week and this week and the car is exactly where i parked it last Monday, so I stopped by yesterday to check on the status as i hadn't heard anything. They indicated they actually don't have an ETA for the part it might be this week or next week, or 4 weeks from now, but who knows. The BEV team member who has been handling my case has also seemed to gone MIA as I have left several messages via phone and email with them since last week, but i believe this is partly due to the tropical storm that hit Texas.

Dealer wants to charge me $950 to replace the door module identified as the cause of the door fault. That sounds outrageous. Is this something an owner could replace? Is a non-critical fault I can live with or does it cause real problems down the road? I haven't found answers to either question by searching the forum.

On the cost note, what have others been charged for the fix? I'm in Massachusetts, so I expect it to be top end of the scale but this is still expensive.

Really not sure if it is something an owner could do. My guess is probably not sense it probably requires some reprogramming and other configurations / calibrations.
While it is possible to live with the fault message, in my case my car will not lock the doors. I am not crazy about just walking away from my car in a parking lot and just leaving it unlocked.

Yeah, that's fair enough. So far it hasn't caused any problems other than the fault warning, but I'm worried it may cause subsequent faults that are a problem.

How much have other owners here been charged for the door module repair? My dealer wants $950, parts and labor, which seems outrageous. I don't know how much the part is itself.

Small frustrating update.

April - replaced door module
May - reprogrammed module and addressed other warning messages and prompts mid to late may - lost track of how long they had car in May but it was close to 8 or 9 days.
June - door was good for (3) weeks after repairs in May. Around June 17th error started back up and schedule (2) weeks out to bring it back in.
July 1st - Dropped car off at dealership. Dealer indicated they were just going to replace "the wiring harness" and plan for being without car for a week. After a week i stopped by dealership on July 8th and got the we don't really know when we will get the wiring harness we don't even have an ETA for it. Called Ford BEV rep to update. 2 weeks ago (July 24th or 25th) Ford (not dealership) determined that the new control module they installed in June was damaged and indicated that they would need to be replace that instead of replacing wiring harness like the dealership was wanting to do. Dealer was to get the new control module last Wednesday July 31st. I didn't hear anything from anybody until last Friday Aug 2nd. I got an email from Ford indicating that the plan was to still replace the control module, but that the part was now backordered with no E.T.A. and they would contact me once they had more info.

Ford has been paying for a rental and gas, but just frustrating to have a car in a shop for almost 40 continuous days without a repair date in sight. Hopefully now that i've posted and update Murphy's law will kick in and get an update. lol

UPDATED: Having the same issue - started last night. Both passenger side doors, no window control and the touch lock button on the outside of those doors does not work. Unlocking with remote, then pushing the door open button works, but seems impaired, just unlatched the door, doesn't push it open like normal.

UPDATE: Got car into dealer. They found a bad ground that was causing the issues. Fixed ground, car is back in business. No parts were needed.

Update
Car at dealership now since July 1st (51 continuous days) with still no ETA on part availability. Buyback process was discussed last week between myself and Ford BEV team rep. Just shy of 15k miles. Will have to see how this plays out. Have never been in the spot before and not sure what to expect or how long this process takes.

Update
Dealer called me last Thursday indicating that the car was fixed and ready for pickup, after being told that they had no idea when the part would be in. Apparently it just randomly showed up last Tuesday. I picked up that afternoon and things were good until Sunday. Picked my parents up for lunch dropped them of at home afterwards got back in the car and got the "Passenger Door Ajar" warning again and "door fault service required". The difference this time is that occasionally reopping the door and closing it will clear the messages.. Messages didn't show up on Monday or most of yesterday. Started showing up last night when i made stop at the grocery stop and went to put bag in the front passenger seat. Again reopening and close the door cleared the messages. This morning I couldn't get the passenger door to open via the exterior button. Had to get in and reach across to get it to open.

Stopped at the dealership this morning and they basically said to take it up with Ford they have done all they can do. Waiting for the BEF rep i've been dealing with to call me.

I think i am now done with this car.
