I've just had my keys replaced with the new ones.

I'm disappointed that the frunk button doesn't do anything on my MY21 First Edition.

Still, at least the new keys are much easier to distinguish from the keys to my wife's Kuga.

I have no doubt that you have many stuck software updates. Initially I couldn’t open the frunk electronically until I persuaded ford to install all my outstanding updates.

As for the keys… I called to order these on the day the CSP was issued. My dealer told me that the change was just cosmetic and that there was no frunk release. Having checked this forum I called then back a couple to days later to be told that there are supply issues and the ford portal tells them not to order any more. ?

Your dealer is incorrect. There is a frunk release button on the key and I know it works. I did not have the frunk release icon on the screen until 6.14 had been installed which I presume also enabled the functionality of the key press on the fob.

This is really a silly situation. Ford know how many UK cars have been sold unless they think that a certain percentage of owners wouldn't be bothered ordering a key (accountants on the board) and have miscalculated the demand.

So, the remote frunk release should be activated by a future software update? That's great news. Being able to open the frunk remotely would be so much more convenient than having to use the mechanical release on the passenger side. I'd wrongly assumed that early MY21 only had a mechanical frunk release.

I don't understand why it takes Ford so long to roll out software updates.

Has anyone on here had their new keys activated and now do not have the welcome lights working.
Ever since my new keys were activated my welcome lights DO NOT come on. I have checked on the settings screen and they are toggled to "ON". Also, I have had 6.14 but do not have the "watch" toggle on the entertainment screen. Anyone else having this issue too?

I recently got my keys and the dealer updated my pony to allow the keys to open the frunk. No problem with my welcome lights. Not had the 6.14 update yet though.

It's crazy that everyone's experience of this key update is different, do Ford not bother to train their technicians centrally?

My car downloaded a software update on Saturday night. I can now open the frunk using my key fob. It's so much more convenient than opening the passenger door to pull the lever.

???

That’s great news, mine was back with Ford for a whole day last week and they still couldn’t work out the problem!

Having waited for almost 6 weeks for the local dealership to get back to me as they were unable to place an order for the replacement fobs with ford. I thought I would give the bell today. Apparently all back orders have been cancelled, due to demand and no further information available for the recall. Anyone else been provided the same information?

Is it because Ford have decided it's too expensive do you think? I presume brand new cars are getting the Mustang key?

No, more nuanced than that.

Can’t say the bigger key and ability to open the froot on the key is something I have craved, I quite like the dinky Fieste key?
