Bought our MME 3 weeks ago and PAAK never worked consistently from day one. I refused to give up.
Thought about it and concluded that when the very nice salesman rapidly synced our iPhones a glitch on V-T-Phone coms developed because both phones were in the car when he began syncing.
The most obvious glitch was when walking up to the vehicle, it was NOT “seeing” my iPhone and waking up, unlocking the doors. This clued me in that the primary security feature.. my iPhone.. wasn’t recognized.
Yet I could force an unlock door. But could never start the car without entering the master password. I concluded the MME should recognize the iPhone as the first V-to-iPhone step. Not the other way around.
I figured to delete my S.O. and my profile and start the sync process again from the beginning. With her and my iPhones far away and with Fob in hand I went to work deleting. Then grabbed my iPhone and synced with a new profile, new master password, new door code. Because I’m commuting and use I became the active profile.
PAAK now works correctly. I walk up and within about 25’ it recognizes my iPhone and I can unlock the door, start the car.
I also noticed other quirks-Apple car play works poorly hardwired. BT audio works like it should. It could be I’ve a crappy unshielded USB-iPhone cable.
Live and learn.
