My GPS was back to normal as well when I started the car this morning. The car was in exactly the same spot where I unsuccessfully tried to troubleshoot the issue with Ford support last night, nothing has changed.

I still took it to a local dealership to check up anyway, but they couldn't do anything, just verified that it's on the latest software.
Below is a photo of satellite status screen that I took when the car was parked under the roof of the dealership's service center, it was tracking 17 satellites even under a roof.

and … the problem is back, now just for an hour and location was off by about a mile.
Also affected iPhone’s CarPlay, Google maps displayed the same wrong location.
The problem went away when I came back and started the car in an hour. This time it didn’t persist for long.

I can't find any patterns to this. Mine comes and goes totally random.

I just had the same thing happen in my Camaro. I was convinced this was an issue with ford. Now I really wonder what the heck is going on.

In our case, it continues to come and go, but without the iPhones losing their minds at all. I presume it is primarily an antenna issue and the Ford implementation is really naive lacking any sanity checking or inertial navigation logic (perhaps purchased as an integrated unit, hw+sw package).

The tie in with speed limits makes this a safety issue in my book. once that "feature" is disabled, Ford's insistence on having the charge limit tied to a specific location is the remaining annoyance. The MachE being confused about being 10miles from home wouldn't matter if it had a global "charge to" setting.

I face the same problem on my 2021 Mach E randomly. I always thought that it was some Pixel 6 bug. This is the first time I learnt that my phone uses car's GPS when on Android Auto.

This has been driving us crazy. Happens with iPhone and Apple Carplay, as well as Android with Android Auto. So it must be the car, and it makes sense since both platforms use the cars GPS instead of the phone's GPS.

Months ago I'd experience Waze buffering GPS where it would look like I'd be stopped on the road, and then it would catch up, then stall, then catch up. Google maps seemed to work better. Now (January 2023), Waze and Google Maps just holds an old location, sometimes for 5+ minutes, then eventually updates. I've wondered if Ford's communication protocol for GPS with the phone is odd. When traveling and renting a car from other manufactures, it all works as expected. Hope Ford can sort this out soon.

Today using Android Auto, My gps suddenly was acting crazy. The screen was shifting significantly from large to small, Changing routing every 2 seconds. It was totally lost. I did notice a large bus running in the left lane about a half mile in front of me. When I got in front of the bus, instantly everything was normal and working perfectly. I don't know if the bus had anything to do with it or not. Just seems strange.

What phone are you using?

Mine has been absolutely awful in the vehicle for the last week, give it take some days. I have an unlocked, US variant Pixel 7 Pro being used with T-Mobile.

If I hold the phone up to the fritted area of the windshield it will get decent GPS for Android Auto once it finally locks in... But if I put the phone on the charge pad or nearby, it loses signal and stays lost for the vast majority of the drive. It'll show somewhere near my neighborhood even though I'm miles away on the freeway for instance. And it gains and loses compass direction regularly.

Never had this problem before. I'm also having significant problems with Connected Navigation but I think it might be coincidental? I'm really unsure what's going on though.

Ford's nav shows my location and heading and appears to be quite accurate to me. But Google Maps is super bad now, while connected to the car via AA.

Similar boat here - Pixel 7 Pro - Android Auto had been flawless since I bought the car in December...but this week, similar problems to those mentioned - "Searching for GPS", the location just "hanging" somewhere - while Google Maps on the phone had no issue with it, nor did the Ford Navigation. So I'm doing basic troubleshooting - going back a version (I had been on the Android QPR beta, going back to the normal versions), stuff like that...but incredibly frustrating!

Hmm. In case we can reveal some pattern here, my AA version is 8.5.624594-release.

I am using A Samsung Galaxy Ultra 22 5g. I wonder if the 5g might have something to do with it?

I don't know that this will solve the problem, but a few folks have gotten somebody at Google's attention here: https://support.google.com/androidauto/thread/198448311 - so perhaps contribute to that thread? (Of course, we still don't know if the problem is Android or Ford or who-knows-what...) (My situation: Pixel 7 Pro - worked flawlessly until about a week ago - have been doing lots of crazy diagnostics and toggle-toggling trying to make it work. I got all the way to work today flawlessly...then the way home? My arrow was "stuck" at the same place for most of my drive.)

Awesome. I posted my details there.

Looks like a variety of phones and head units.

Someone replied saying that there's is fine after they cleared data from Google Maps but I'm not going to mess with mine until we hear more from Google and others.
