My 2024 MME Premium ER RWD is getting Rally springs, Eibach stabilizers and a new set of tires in an attempt to smooth out the ride somewhat. My question is, which tire -Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 225/55R/19 103H ELECT or Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 255/50R/19 107V ? Something else?

I would go for the latter. The P Zero AS Plus 3 is a performance all season smooth riding, quiet tire. If you want a bit smoother riding tire, the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 is a SUV touring all season. I would go for that one if performance is not as important as the ride. The 255/50R19 size has a slightly taller sidewall and with a 107 load rating you can run them at 35 psi giving you an even smoother ride. I just recommend that exact tire (Scorpion AS Plus 3) and size to another Mach-E owner and they are very happy with them.

I have this tire, although a 255/45/20 since my car is lowered a tad with the Eibach Lowering springs. I am happy with the tires.

Ken (KenR) I should have mentioned that since you are installing the Rally springs, you are going to have a larger 1" wheel well gap. Your tires are going to look small and you should go with even taller tires than the 255/50R19's. I have recommended 255/55R19's for a couple of people that have installed the rally springs to take up some of that wheel well gap. This size is 1 1/4" taller than your current ones which will take up 5/8" of that gap. Not only that, the sidewall is even taller giving you a softer ride. They will still fit on your 7" wheel and they have a 111 load rating so you can run them at 30 psi giving you an even softer ride. Of course your range will go down a bit at that pressure but if you go on a long trip and need the range you can pump them back up to 39 psi.

The Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3's are available and in this size (255/55R19) you get the advantage of them being ELECT EV specific (lower rolling resistance) and with the acoustic foam inside making them even quieter. Your speedometer will show about 2 mph slower than you are actually going but that is not a big deal.

This size is 1" taller than your current ones which will take up 1/2" of that gap. Not only that, the sidewall is even taller giving you a softer ride. They will still fit on your 7" wheel and they still have the 107 load rating so you can run them at 35 psi. The Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3's are available in that size as well.
Thank you! I really appreciate all of your help. But, just a thought, how about the fore and aft gap? Sufficient clearance? Look, okay (i.e.; not too small)? Thanks again.

Ken, I made a mistake in the tire size so the post you quoted has been updated. Look at it again. #4

There will not be a clearance issue with these 255/55R19 size tires.

It would be nice to know which wheel you are asking about. What size tire do you currently have? The Mach-E has 5 different wheel size combinations. What model trim is your Mach-E? Most likely a 255 will fit but depends on the trim as some are 18" wheels, 19" wheels and 20". Some are 7", 7.5" and 8" wide

The stock 19s on the premium
For that wheel, you would want to get the 255/50R19. It is 1/4" taller so won't change your speedo any or cause any rubbing issues and is just over 1" wider. It will fit your wheel.

I just replaced my OEM Michelin Primacy A/S tires (225/55R19) at nearly 52,000 miles with Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 Elect (same size). I have only driven about 20 miles but can already tell a difference with reduced tire noise, better ride over road imperfections, tighter steering, and straighter tracking. I'll keep you posted as I drive more on them. Small sample size but so far, love them.

Dan, you will continue to appreciate the differences you mentioned in these Pirelli's. I have recommended them time and time again and everyone here that has them has had no complaints, only praise.

Thanks Mark. My decision was between these, the Goodyear ElectricDrive 2, and the Hankook Ion EVO AS SUV tires. My only hesitation about the Pirellis was that I had Pirellison my 2007 Ford Five Hundred as OEM tires and they didn't last long....but that was a long time ago on a different type of car. But so far, so good.

I like my Nokian Ones. I got them while they were on sale and they handle wet conditions very well. Hopefully they can chandle the snow up in Chicago well enough as well.
