It's because the cheap EVs are not that good to replace an ICE. Slow charging, crappy interior. I've had a Leaf since 2019 because it works for me. I commute about 25,000 miles a year. My state has a $2500 rebate almost every year and with the tax credit, it makes sense to trade up every one or two years. The Leaf had adaptive cruise control and lane centering and 360 degree camera in the mid trim so I chose it over a Bolt.For people who need a car to get from point a to point b, EVs are still waaaaaay too expensive to be mainstream.
