Congrats- I came from an ICE SUV that I'd driven daily for 16 years, to a premium extended range MME. The difference was night and day - I was hooked. And agree on the looks, the MME is a beautiful car from any angle you look at it. Enjoy it!

My wife’s 2021 premium AWD was the first truly fun car I’ve driven. It made me want to drive like I did when I was 17 and driving just because I could. It was a gateway car for me. I then bought my own AWD premium which was then sold to take advantage of a great deal on a GT-PE. I’m now eyeballing a hopeful MME Coupe or the Dodge Daytona Banshee as we learn more about it. This fun yet practical SUV mustang electric mash-up may end up costing me a lot of money.
Anyway, welcome to the club of torque addicts.

I'm just itching to get back behind the wheel for no reason other than to just do it.
More than a year with mine, and still have the same feeling. A day when I don't drive is a lost day.

Thank you for the great post!

We finally picked up our Mach-E on Wednesday. Honestly, I started having regrets about the order right around the six month mark of waiting (it took more than 13 months). It would easily be the most money we'd ever spent on a car, and up until this point, my cars have been practical (with one exception). Started as a teenager with a used Toyota Corolla, but my new cars have been a Dodge Durango (not practical, but I wouldn't call it fun), Chevy HHR, and two Subaru Foresters back to back (pretty much identical with the second one having EyeSight).

I always wanted a sports car, but the practical side of me just couldn't do it. I viewed cars as something to get you from point A to point B. What's the point of buying a fast car ... you're just stuck in the same traffic as everyone else! The only reason why I even considered the Mach-E was because it was an 'SUV'. Sporty, but with four doors and good cargo room. Could this be the perfect compromise between practicality and sportiness? I also wanted electric, with that practical side of me deciding that it was the right way to go when we mostly just drive around our area.

Friends ... I had no idea how a sports car or an electric car feels or handles behind the wheel; I'd never driven any. I've been in passenger in a Tesla exactly once (a Model 3). I've been in some ICE sports cars, but always as a passenger, and they always struck me as loud and while fun, a little scary. I didn't test drive the Mach-E first, because all they had was a GT and I didn't want to drive something that didn't match what I was getting.

After picking up the Mach-E, the first time I put that pedal down ... WOW. My wife freaked out a little, my daughter giggled in the back seat, and begged me to do it more. ? I'm just itching to get back behind the wheel for no reason other than to just do it. I'm having to rein myself in a little because I've never had a car accelerate that fast before. (I had to explain to my seven-year-old that you can't just go as fast as you want, and the car is so fast I can only put the pedal down for a second or two before I'm already over the speed limit. Then I had to explain the difference between a crime and an infraction. ? I also had to teach her the difference between fast as in top speed, and fast as in acceleration.)

Anyway, I think I'm hooked. I had no idea what I was missing. Now, maybe the GT/PE are "better," but from where I've been coming from, this is plenty of power for me, lots of fun, and as far as I'm concerned a great no-compromise choice. I'm only a couple of days in, and still learning about all the quirks and features (credit: Doug DeMuro), but my wife is actually afraid to drive it. I was supposed to take her out yesterday so she could figure out the one-pedal driving, but she begged off at the last second. But I think once she feels it for herself, I'm not going to get to be the family chauffeur any more!

And it's SO PRETTY. ? I literally blurted out, "She's so pretty" when coming back from putting the trash out this morning! Again, none of the cars I've ever had I would classify as pretty. But the Mach-E is a looker. I wasn't sure if the Space White was going to be too grey, but I think it's perfect, has a nice contract with the black accents and roof, which I really wanted to make it look sportier. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but I haven't found a bad angle on her yet. I have a few accessories to kit her out with ... I got a little spoiler and some window louvers, just to give her a bit more Mustang to go with the badging.

Anyway, I'm rambling while getting ready for a meeting. I'm real happy with the Mach-E so far.
Congratulation!!

Mine is same colore and I love it!

Wait until you catch the space white in different lighting, too. It is part chameleon. The day I picked it up, it went from kind of flat white in the sun to light grey as it started getting darker to pinkish-orange in the sunset to robin egg blue. (I swear I wasn't hallucinating from any drugs! LOL) I didn't even make it all the way through the neighborhood to my house before a neighbor stopped me to check out the car and squealed with excitement when he realized it was a Mustang. Of course that was followed up with, "And oh my god! What IS this color!?" It really is a looker. It was catching the colors of the changing leaves a few weeks ago, so I took a pic. Picked it up 10/22/22 and still turn back to look at it every time I get out. Still haven't let the hubby drive it yet even though he's paying for it. ?

Welcome to the club! Driving shouldn't be a chore, but for most people it is- the chicken and egg question is whether people hate driving because econoboxes are so shitty, or if econoboxes are so shitty because people hate driving and don't care.

All three of my kids have gone through some phase of asking me to gun it. My son often said "More vroom, Daddy!" when I had 8 cylinders, three pedals, and 2 turbos. My middle daughter gave me a lot of "Just go already!" when I had the Tesla 3P, and my youngest regularly wants me to run over slower traffic with calls for "Go faster!" in the Mach e. These are the things that make me smile a little every time.

I know every curve, every apex, every rough patch of pavement on my regular drive routes because I drive them - I'm not along for the ride. The Mach e (even my GT) isn't the best for it - suspension is skittish, throttle mapping and regen need some fine tuning, it'll dig its nose in and plow straight ahead until the computer finally notices you wanted to turn sometimes - but it'll pop out of a turn like nobody's business; it hauls three kids, a week's worth of groceries, and a Home Depot run all the way to Olive Garden and back; and it looks great doing it.

I'm glad you've had your eyes opened - driving can be fun - and you've got a great tool for exploring just how fun it can be.

I swapped out my space white choice for vapor blue (not delivered yet). I love both colors so much, I hope I’m not sorry! Congrats. Love to hear the positive stuff!!

I originally ordered a '23 in grabber blue, but the space white was a walk away. Couldn't not take the AWD and EXT battery upgrade for about $2k more than the blue RWD STD range. I've gotta say... the color is really growing on me. I thought I would miss the grabber blue, but I don't as much as I thought I would. Just tonight I pulled into a gas station for a sec and got compliments. I had to tell the lady it was fully electric, but I stopped to check my bumper for damage from debris (see below).

I almost got hit tonight while sitting at a stop light. Raining relatively heavy and someone was making a left turn in front of me to go onto my street. Someone going straight hit them and spun them around in front of me, landing a foot or two away from my driver side front bumper. I'm still a little shaken up at the thought of almost being hit. The retired EMT and 911 Dispatcher in me made sure both drivers were ok before pulling away. It reminded me I need to get my dash cam installed ASAP. Thank you, Universe and Karma, for not letting Sylveon take any damage!!! ?

I used to have toys, C3 Vette w/side pipes, 2 different cruiser motorcycles, I try to tell everyone how fun EVs are to drive. Honestly my Gen 1 Leaf was extremely fun, now the Mach-E, its a game changer. I try to tell friends, imagine driving a ducati monster that is practical and comfortable. And the silent launch, 7 years of EV driving and I floor my car every chance I can, I used to drive my toys hard but there was so much wear and tear, excess noise, getting pulled over, the guilt of noise pollution. This is what most dont understand about EVs, especially those ICE luddites, I ask them all the time at car shows, "how many times did you floor that car on the way to this show?" cause I drove 1.5 miles and was WOT at least 4 times. Although with the Mach-E it may be a bit of "its all fun and games until some melts their HVBJB"
Huh, what, did you say something?
Ford Mustang Mach-E Never had a 'fun' car before .... I'm hooked! 79F53EEA-193E-4667-A3C7-C8B1DF960B3C

I bought what I thought was a “practical” car once. That was my 1971 Celica. Then I pulled the engine in favor of an Asian/European market engine, built that up, did a ton of suspension mods, race steering, fat wheels and tires, flared bodywork, etc. No longer an econobox. LOL. ??
Like they say, "pic or didn't happen" ?

While I’ve had a variety of sports cars they have all been low powered like a RX-7 and Miata. I’ve driven some high powered cars like a Mustang 5.0 and Corvette Z06 but only for short distances.

I did have some EV experience with our Prius Prime plug in hybrid. Decided if I was getting a pure EV I wanted something fun. It is the most powerful car I’ve ever owned in 55 years of car ownership. Scared myself the one time I put the pedal to the metal.
Only one time?

You’re doing it wrong.

Now had you said “one time a day,” I could respect that.

Extended range? Sucks, but once replaced you are rolling again!
Sure, when the part arrives, sometime. Even the BEV team that got a COPIS expedite case going hasn’t given an ETA yet. Not a great vibe when you know the production line has their HVBJB allocation. Screw the early adopters.

Salty….??‍♂

An unrelated question......... I went to the Web site for Bickford Motors in Snohomish. Their Web page has a cool composite picture of their origanal building. Although I can see that they Bickford has has moved, are the original dealer buildings still standing? If they are, what are they used for?
Sorry, not really sure about that. It seemed like there was kind of a mix of old and new stuff on the property, could be they’re still using the old buildings on another part of their lot.
