We finally picked up our Mach-E on Wednesday. Honestly, I started having regrets about the order right around the six month mark of waiting (it took more than 13 months). It would easily be the most money we'd ever spent on a car, and up until this point, my cars have been practical (with one exception). Started as a teenager with a used Toyota Corolla, but my new cars have been a Dodge Durango (not practical, but I wouldn't call it fun), Chevy HHR, and two Subaru Foresters back to back (pretty much identical with the second one having EyeSight).

I always wanted a sports car, but the practical side of me just couldn't do it. I viewed cars as something to get you from point A to point B. What's the point of buying a fast car ... you're just stuck in the same traffic as everyone else! The only reason why I even considered the Mach-E was because it was an 'SUV'. Sporty, but with four doors and good cargo room. Could this be the perfect compromise between practicality and sportiness? I also wanted electric, with that practical side of me deciding that it was the right way to go when we mostly just drive around our area.

Friends ... I had no idea how a sports car or an electric car feels or handles behind the wheel; I'd never driven any. I've been in passenger in a Tesla exactly once (a Model 3). I've been in some ICE sports cars, but always as a passenger, and they always struck me as loud and while fun, a little scary. I didn't test drive the Mach-E first, because all they had was a GT and I didn't want to drive something that didn't match what I was getting.

After picking up the Mach-E, the first time I put that pedal down ... WOW. My wife freaked out a little, my daughter giggled in the back seat, and begged me to do it more. ? I'm just itching to get back behind the wheel for no reason other than to just do it. I'm having to rein myself in a little because I've never had a car accelerate that fast before. (I had to explain to my seven-year-old that you can't just go as fast as you want, and the car is so fast I can only put the pedal down for a second or two before I'm already over the speed limit. Then I had to explain the difference between a crime and an infraction. ? I also had to teach her the difference between fast as in top speed, and fast as in acceleration.)

Anyway, I think I'm hooked. I had no idea what I was missing. Now, maybe the GT/PE are "better," but from where I've been coming from, this is plenty of power for me, lots of fun, and as far as I'm concerned a great no-compromise choice. I'm only a couple of days in, and still learning about all the quirks and features (credit: Doug DeMuro), but my wife is actually afraid to drive it. I was supposed to take her out yesterday so she could figure out the one-pedal driving, but she begged off at the last second. But I think once she feels it for herself, I'm not going to get to be the family chauffeur any more!

And it's SO PRETTY. ? I literally blurted out, "She's so pretty" when coming back from putting the trash out this morning! Again, none of the cars I've ever had I would classify as pretty. But the Mach-E is a looker. I wasn't sure if the Space White was going to be too grey, but I think it's perfect, has a nice contract with the black accents and roof, which I really wanted to make it look sportier. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but I haven't found a bad angle on her yet. I have a few accessories to kit her out with ... I got a little spoiler and some window louvers, just to give her a bit more Mustang to go with the badging.

Anyway, I'm rambling while getting ready for a meeting. I'm real happy with the Mach-E so far.
Welcome to the family, she is gorgeous. Be ready for fun and a lot of comments from strangers. It is a fun ride, enjoy it. Once driven your wife will be hooked. My husband was nervous too, in 3 weeks we will have his and his Mach E in the garage

I originally ordered a '23 in grabber blue, but the space white was a walk away. Couldn't not take the AWD and EXT battery upgrade for about $2k more than the blue RWD STD range. I've gotta say... the color is really growing on me. I thought I would miss the grabber blue, but I don't as much as I thought I would. Just tonight I pulled into a gas station for a sec and got compliments. I had to tell the lady it was fully electric, but I stopped to check my bumper for damage from debris (see below).

I almost got hit tonight while sitting at a stop light. Raining relatively heavy and someone was making a left turn in front of me to go onto my street. Someone going straight hit them and spun them around in front of me, landing a foot or two away from my driver side front bumper. I'm still a little shaken up at the thought of almost being hit. The retired EMT and 911 Dispatcher in me made sure both drivers were ok before pulling away. It reminded me I need to get my dash cam installed ASAP. Thank you, Universe and Karma, for not letting Sylveon take any damage!!! ?
The color's right for the name...you just need some pink and blue ribbons streaming from it!

I see what you did. Sounds like you want your wife to give up her turns to drive the MME to you after she sees the post.

The only way to avoid that is to hide the fob and hope she can't set up PAAK.

It appears we're have the same car color ??

This is what I added after my very 1st door ding (it helped me locate exactly where to place the black bumper strips haha).

Bumper strips are shiny black, stick on well. I carefully angled them slightly (back = up). No more door dings, and i can sometimes feel the dips in the black bumper strip after someone wasn't careful.

I don't know about ribbons, but I might get or make a small vinyl decal with Sylveon for it. ? Yeah, I'm a nerd. Hubby has the dark grey Model 3 and named his Umbreon.

Welcome to the club! I know how you feel. I am not a car person at all, and always had Volvos and Subarus (Outback, Crosstrek), never thought about getting a "sports" car. Not practical for me. I have dogs and sometimes need the cargo space. Then I ended up getting a Select. I loved it so much, I traded it for a GT. ? ? I put blue racing stripes on mine. When I go get the mail and come back, I"m always like "damn that is a nice looking car!" haha. I love it.

Now you gotta look at accessories :) AOSK has a ton of stuff you didn't even know you needed ;) I

I installed my AOSK pedals today. Haven't taken them for a spin yet. Also installed my screen protectors and after last night's close call, my dash cam!

My favourite part about driving the car is leaving everyone behind at stop lights. A small bit of extra go pedal and everyone is in the rear view mirror. Without even breaking a sweat, you just quietly disappear up the road.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

I ordered a '23 Grabber Blue GT after striking out for months finding a '22 Premium AWD ER, and figured it would take a year to get the '23 anyways and I'd have more time to save for a bigger down payment for the increase in price.

Then two things happened. My GT went into production WAY faster that I anticipated, and is due to be delivered in the next week or two, and then I found a Space White Metallic MME Premium AWD ER. I jumped on the '22 as it was a) available now = tax credit, b) even with ADM cheaper than the GT c) I could have it now, and wait and see how the cards fall when the GT arrives.

I have to say the Space White is an incredible color, the changes in looks based on lighting is crazy, and the contrast with the black trim pieces, and the black aftermarket wheels I added, plus tint just make this car look mean.

I had originally been saving up for a C7 Vette because I am a "car guy" and have always wanted a sports car. We have a diesel truck, 3-row SUV gas vehicle, and I was commuting in a corolla. Figured I'd keep the the corolla, buy the vette and have a fun car. However, my wife veto'd that plan since we have 3 & 5yr old kids with car seats. Ultimately, the MME was the compromise (lol ended up costing me about the same $$$ vs the used Vette) and while I still hope to get into a Vette some day, this car flat out is the perfect fit for our needs and my wants right now. It is a great commuter car, comfortable and fast, scratches a lot of the itch for a sports car (while still not quite in the same league of course) and a darn good looker too.

Enjoy the car!!!

So I’m on my way to Buffalo Wild Wings to pick up some food, and I lingered a bit at a green light because I was fiddling with the screen. Guy behind me in a Charger with a handicapped hangtag honked at me … like, way longer than was reasonable. So I blew his doors off. ?ļø??

I’m sure that will get old eventually, as all things do. But not today! ?

Will they look good on silver? ;) I have a ding to cover, and future ones to avoid.
Where did you get them?
