New iPhone and PAAK

I upgraded my iPhone and dreaded the PAAK set up. I have to admit that it was super easy. Much easier than previous attempts. Maybe Ford has done some software tweaks that actually worked.

I have been a strong critic of Ford and their software. So I was pleasantly surprised when this actually worked the first time.

It wasn't hard to set up for me either. But it's just too unreliable for my use, more than half the time I walk up to the car and PAAK hasn't registered with the car yet, and then I wait around until it does. Or I get impatient and open the app. I've gone back to the fob which is 100% reliable. I hope PAAK gets better in the future.

Sorry you're having that problem. Neither my wife nor I have experienced it with our iPhone 15's and latest iOS with our new 2024 MME GT. We're used to PaaK from our Model 3 Dual Motor which occasionally wouldn't work and required the app to be open. Tesla had a notice all the time that for the best phone key experience the app should be left on. Sometimes, it doesn't work for either car if the phone is asleep--maybe that's your issue?

I've used PAAK solely since 2021 when I got the car. It was very buggy at first, so I put the fob in a faraday pouch in the glove box. That along with the passcode kept me out of trouble. It got better over time for me, but, getting a new phone and having to go through the setup was hit or miss. This time around it was flawless and I was done in a few minutes

I went on a quick errand run with my wife. A couple hours later we get back home and I realize I never had my fob with me. It was all PAAK. Pleasantly surprised.

I've followed all the suggestions I could find to no avail. It's a common complaint among other PAAK users, I'm just part of the unlucky bunch. I'll probably revisit it in about a year and see if anything has improved.

I just got a new phone and I’ve got to be honest. I’m struggling to get it to work with the PA AK.

What do I need to do to get this iphone paired with my Ford?

I had an issue when adding the new iPhone initially. I suspect it had something to do with the prior phone setup being the "copy" I used to build the new phone.

I removed the "device" from the Ford App and any bluetooth reference on the phone. I also cleaned up all of these from the car as well. Then started over. It worked when adding as new.
