First let’s say I seriously like my 2024 MME premium. It is a solid fun to drive car. I would say love but I save that word for my relationship with my wife. Call the MME what you will but this is not an SUV. My 2013 Gord Escspe is closer to that. As an older guy (pushing 70) I liked the higher stance of the MME while still giving excellent performance and handling. I traded a 2015 MINI Cooper for the MME. The MINI can be best described as a street legal gocart. A blast to drive and a great drivers car. But pretty punishing for a passenger. Hard stiff ride , not much if a damping in the suspension. Passenger got all the worst parts of the car with non of the thrill of driving it . Owner also got saddled with the stupidly expensive and frequent repairs . The MME is a much better all round vehicle. Probable the best car I have owned but my 2004 Cadillac CTS was a close second .

I really don't see my self racing around in the, 0-60 kmhs is mostly what the car will see. the the 70mph performance capping is that only if your going from 0-70? what happens if your on the hwy and want to pass someone well you are already going 65-70 already? we have hwy here that have speeds of 120 khm which is around 75mph.

I am not sure how to check if the used model I am looking at as the HVBJB replaced or not. the car looks to be bought from the other side of Canada and brought into BC. anyway to find this out?

oh damn I didn't know the mach e gt pe had a option to have the metal roof and no 360. damn the one I was looking at just so happened to be one of the metal roof ones. I do want the 360 camera and I would like the have the option for blue curse. I am glad you pointed that out as I would not of realized till i went to the dealer to buy it.
The performance limiter actually starts kicking in ar 73 mph. There is a power meter in the GT that gers what we euphemistically call “jail bars.” The jail bars indicate how much of the car’s maximum power is being limited (this could be due to the power limiter, HV battery State of Charge, battery temperature, etc.). One bar appears at 73. More bars appear as the car goes faster. IIRC the maximum number of bars appears at 80 mph (car loses apx. 150 hp by then). So it’s a gradual decrease in power. Some people do not notice it. Some do. The car still will accelerate, just not like it did under 70. ??

If you are purchasing from a Ford dealer, you can have them pull up the car’s service history. If not, get the VIN of the car and post it to the FDRS thread and ask for one of the volunteers to run the update status and service history of the car. Note that the HVBJB is one of the components of the electrical drive system so it’s under the 8 year/100,000 mile warranty. if you do break yours it should be covered until one of those conditions is met. ??

The GT-PE came standard with a metal roof in 2021. The vast majority were optioned with the glass roof. Ford made the glass roof (and the 360 cameras) standard on all GTs in 2022. In 2024 Ford once again made the GT standard with the metal roof but the 360 cameras stayed standard equipment. Sadly for me, the vast majority of 2024 GTs were also optioned with the glass roof (even though I found a base model). ??

The sad part is, even after 4 years there's not all that many (non-pickup) BEVs that are taller/bigger. The EV9 sets that standard now (along with the too-expensive-for-most R1S and Gravity), but there's not much else that's bigger (some others of similar size).

That's one of the reasons we chose the Mach-E, because it (barely) made the cut for my minimum height prerequisite. I hate crawling down into/up out of low vehicles.
I think, the case can be made, the larger the vehicle, both in size, and also capability, the less the EV part makes sense, with the current technology. There is certainly a point where the advantage/disadvantage curve starts to intersect and go the opposite direction, when those two factors are considered. Even tho the MME is not really big by SUV standards, I think it's pretty close to that point of intersection.

Exactly. Which is why most larger/taller SUVs will stay ICE/hybrid for likely many years, until there's a quantum leap in battery energy density (and kWh price). It just takes too much battery (and thus too much $$) to do it cost effectively now (without it being an $80k vehicle that's out of most people's reach).

Not sure how Kia got the price down as much as they did with the EV9. That's impressive, even though it still jumps into the $60k's/$70k's pretty quickly. But at least it's not $80k.
