Hi, I joined here last weekend to get some tips to buy a MME. I'm in the Seattle area.

I decided to order a MME and pinged some dealers.

One dealer said they don't accept X-plan, one another said he will ask his GM tomorrow but I saw the MME Orders spread sheet above that someone bought there with X-plan in the past. I'm afraid if that's a bad sign or not.

Any advice that I can do better with dealing with them? I'm quite poor at doing this kind of things.

I'd recommend asking the general manager or sales manager at each dealer you'd consider for the names and contact info for their EV sales specialists. A lot of dealers may only have a handful of sales people well trained on Mach-E sales and you'll have a better experience working through them.

Also, do as much of your communication via email as possible. You want stuff in writing just in case things you think you've negotiated become forgotten while waiting 5-11 months for your vehicle.

Sounds like you're on the right track with asking for confirmation that they'll accept X-plan on your purchase -- assuming you qualify for that. Don't place an order with a dealer until you have that confirmed as well as answers to other questions you might have, in writing (e.g. email).

Price Ford in Port Angeles accepts X-Plan on ordered MMEs and they have a lower sales tax (8.8% vs 10%+ in Seattle) so you'll save additional money.

Reach out to their general sales manager directly to confirm. He owns an MME and loves to talk about it. I had the easiest, zero-pressure dealer experience with that store. They'll even meet you in Kingston to deliver the car if you want to shorten the drive.

I finally got a dealer that accepts X-plan. He says he will charge X-plan+tax+license+doc fee+security etch. Are those fees separated from the invoice?

Security etching? That shouldn't be a thing. Also, X plan limits doc fees.

Oh I didn't know that. Thank you for your tip!
Read the plan rules to get your own confirmation on this, but yeah, x-plan limits fees to $100 for things that don't add value to the vehicle.

Typically, dealers could charge whatever they want for "documentary fees" or "electronic documentation" or whatever, up to state legal limits. With x-plan, the limit is $100 or the local legal limit, whichever is smaller

I just got mine from Harris Ford in Lynnwood with X-Plan and no markups or BS. Just some learning pains as they sorted out the process but no issues

I picked mine up @ Bowen Scarff in Kent. Confirmed in writing x-plan was available and no add ons for orders. They said anything on the lot was fair game for ADM. It’s why I waited 8 months from order to delivery.

Interesting, Bowen Scarff was the one who said they don't accept the X-plan pricing. Maybe the circumstance was changed...

Thanks! I'm gonna contact him today.

To give an update, it didn't go well with the dealer that charges that bogus, and I was talking to another dealer last night but I missed talking about the deposit refund and he is not responding so I'm gonna contact Price Ford to talk about a MME and cover all items that I was missing: no adm, X-plan, refundable deposit(this doesn't matter to me too much but just in case)

Bowen Scarff has a GTPE for sale with $20k ADM and won't let anyone test drive it. I refuse to do business with them. If you are anywhere near to Puyallup, I would recommend Korum Ford, they have treated me well.

Interesting... Did you talk to the GM or some sales wonk? Either way, looks like you have other options here.

Totally different experience with Bowen Scarff. Totally responsive and this is the 4th car I've purchased from them. Of course they are charging ADM on in stock cars, not many dealers aren't charging ADM on in stock cars. But whatever.

I talked to Sawyer Scarff(maybe a family of Scarff?) and he said he won't accept X-plan. I was thankful of him anyway because he was the nearest person from my area at that time who gave me a test drive of MME.

Interesting, I know that I was the last one they sold a MME to and it was x-plan. Maybe they weren't supposed to and I got it through because I had it in writing that they would. Who knows. Good luck on your search/order though.
