Why keep it a mystery? Why not just publish these codes?
Tbh, I'm not sure. To anyone that can interpret the FORScan spreadsheet, the info is there.....just not on the common tab. I can tell you Ford was upset when the gurus on the F150 forum figured out how to enable BC 1.2 a while back ago and posted it publicly. It was quickly removed and only circled around privately on a much smaller scale. Back then, to enable BC 1.2, you had to side load the newer IPMA software with FORScan because it was not available with fdrs or OTA. Now that the OTA is officially being rolled out, anyone can pull the ab data from a vehicle that has it using the VIN look up thread. However, I was asked not to post it publicly and in turn, I ask the people I share it with to do the same.

From what I understand, Ford got upset about it many months back when the gurus figured out the Asbuilt values necessary and posted them publicly. The fellas behind the knowledge decided to not post them publicly. No reason to draw unnecessary ire.

It takes very little effort to acquire. So no big deal. I was sent the values without even requesting them, simply because a generous fella noticed I had achieved the necessary software using FDRS. (my F150)

Oddly enough, my 2023 3.5 GTPE came from Ford with BC 1.3 and still didn't have the APIM configured to render "Lane Change Assist" toggle, as well as "Lane repositioning". Both features are functional, but neither can be toggled off.

On the truck, where I did the APIM config myself, both features appeared with the appropriate toggles.
You were one of the pioneers of civilian fdrs usage, brother. Damn right you were included in the very first people to have it. Lol

The APIM changes in your truck and the Mach E are the same, I'm pretty sure. It's only the IPMA that differs. I'm going off memory which is not my best asset, but remind me tomorrow and I'll confirm if you want to add the toggles to your car.

Honestly, until someone posted a picture of their Mach-E Sync4 BC options, I hadn't even considered that my Factory BC 1.3 would be feature gimped. ??
Wazzup with that Ford? Lol

Early pioneer?
I don't know about that. It's more like I fearlessly jumped into the wake the actual pioneers were creating, and didn't know any better than to push the buttons to see what would happen.

No regrets. Learned so much. Made some great virtual friends, which I include you yourself as very much so. :)
And don't forget, I/we avoided all the OTA gnashing of teeth from the very beginning. Have never waited for anything that I was curious about or thought was desirable.

My being impatient cost me $1000 on a FDRS license so I could cure my impatience at any moment.

Maybe I can sue Ford for that money back! /s

Oh my teeth gnashed. My truck needed FDRS. 3 trips to 3 different dealers including the one I used to for and got lied to and got no help. Without the forums and fdrs, I'd still be on ancient software with no BC at all.

I do not need that update both are off here. I thought something was going on to the front end for a bit and have no need for either of them. If they disappeared no complaint but stuck on would not be great for me. Do not get the BC fade when the car is so quick and fun to drive? Hard to be a car guy if you don't drive. More of a passenger.

I do love adaptive cruise. Something good something new for me on this one. Still toggle the cruise to suspend a lot to pass but it has it stretches. I need no updates all works OK except one thing. Once all is working updates can be toggled to off. When?

We don't all live in similar Bluecruise Territory or circumstances. Admittedly I am rarely on Bluecruise roads with the Mach-E, but if I were to use it on the trips I take my truck on, then the use-case would be the same and Bluecruise would be a wonderful option.

I had not heard that Ford got upset about people publishing any FORScan information, let alone this specific info. Thanks for the additional insight!

also, I had no idea it was possible to sideload software for any modules in the vehicle? I was always under the impression that the code was digitally signed and authenticated before installing?

FORScan doesn't follow the rules that the OTA and FDRS process does. You'd need the beta version of FORScan and access to the files. I am by no means an experton on the process and I do not recommend playing with this kind of fire without guidance and/or FDRS to be able to recover a bricked module should something go wrong. FORScan is a VERY comprehensive tool in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, but I'm not that person.

Cool. I was totally unaware of all that. It would be interesting to learn more about it someday. Years ago, I “jailbroke” an old iPhone, just to get an idea of what the process was like and what would/could happen. I would (almost) never “jailbreak” my car or sideload unapproved software. (Note: there are, of course, absurd exceptions along the lines of “do it or the bunny dies” so please don’t go down those paths).

Getting off topic now, but side-loading consists of loading the same software Ford would if it was done OTA or with FDRS. If you have the means of getting the files, it is not unapproved software; just an unapproved (by Ford) method of installing them.

If you do attempt to write firmware with Forscan, it's highly recommended to use a hardwired OBD adapter, rather than a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi wireless adapter.

Of course the same Mongoose used with FDRS would be great.
But you can also use the much less expensive OBDlink EX (USB) adapter in Forscan.

Forscan is very powerful in the hands of a real Forscan guru. (which I am not, but know a couple of fellas that are fearless! ?)

No I anything up here ;) I could see it in the 4x4 pickup as it is a V8 box rolling down the road. With the Mach not so much. I use it at the times I use to steer with my knees but that is about it now. Tried it and it is not for me but appears it is for many.
