Yes; they've already scheduled out to the week of 2-21-2022. Maybe the supply of a key component is looking shaky up against the number of builds scheduled through that week.I guess there's no need to schedule when you're already backed up?
At this point I think it's reasonable to believe that the wait time will be more on the "+" side of that 28+ week estimate. If you get it earlier than it'll be a good surprise. At least that's the way I'm thinking about it.Do you think I add a week to the 28+ estimate for every week they donāt schedule?
Kinda kidding; kinda not.
Iām at 12 weeks waiting and I think theyāve only done production scheduling 5 of those weeks.
According to this Ford has no vehicle production scheduled for any time in 2022.
You and I are in the same boat...this is muy decepcionante...I guess there's no need to schedule when you're already backed up?
Ford Mustang Mach-E | Cuautitlan, Mexico | Full Capacity | January 3, 2022 |
The plant was not idle last week. Production started last week based on the fact that my MME has a build week of 1/3/22 listed, and the tracker page shows a build start date of 1/4/22, and I have a crapton of modules that populated on the 4th. They werenāt there on the 3rd.from FordAuthority.com ( Ford Motor Company Production Status (fordauthority.com)
Last week, this plant was "idle". I think they started the 2022 production line today, Jan 10, 2022. If they get up to full speed right away, they could meet the monthly average (pre-chip shortage) of 5-6,000 per month. They did about 5000 in December 2021, finishing 2021s. I still don't know how to tell how many are going to Europe/Canada each month. (Norway has lots of EV incentives, apparently.) Since about half of US orders are coming from just 5 States, I want to believe that's where most will be sent, now.

I don't pretend to know anything about Ford's inner workings, not to mention their information flow. I'm new to Ford in every way and have learned a lot from this forum. I have tried to pass on information to "those who wait". (I am day 35 of predicted 196-day wait.) My comment was based on FoMoCo production status found at "fordauthority.com". (I wish this forum had someone who would "eyewitness" actual happenings at Cuautitlan.) I suspect that "starting up a production line" may actually begin with feeding production orders into the computers/robots, loading the parts queues, etc. Idle probably doesn't necessarily mean they're doing nothing and starting up doesn't necessarily mean the assembly line is in motion. I also am uncertain of the greater meaning of Av8tor's "no scheduling this week" comment on this thread. Sorry, I don't know what "crapton of modules" means, nor what difference a day makes, but thanks for commenting. The plant was not idle last week. There are a number of ways to track the progress of your MME as it winds itās way through Fordās production and delivery systems. This website has links to those trackers and instructions on how to use them. If you look up above, across the masthead of the site is a link called āTrackersā that takes you to the list of those. A lot of them require a VIN to use. You donāt get the VIN until you have a production week scheduled, unfortunately. depending upon how you ordered your car, you may get an e-mail from Ford that has the production week and VIN in it, or you might have to bug your dealer for it. I got mine from Ford because I configured and ordered everything online.I don't pretend to know anything about Ford's inner workings, not to mention their information flow. Yes, thanks. I've seen those links, but don't have a VIN or expect to, for weeks, yet. I've been looking for avenues of inquiry just to put this day-to-day waiting into some reasonable context. Others in this forum have been quite helpful. It probably does not sooth the 2021 orderers at all to explain the magnitude and causes of such things as the seatbelt anchor recall which severely impacted a couple thousand of them, but it helps me. You appeared to correct a remark I had made about the transition of Cuautitlan MME production to 2022MY. I see now that it is a semantic matter, that illuminates our waiting not at all. (It's just those who want to know, but don't really know, talking about the many variables that ultimately result in a MME delivery or a customer who gives up and goes elsewhere.) If Ford delays delivery of my order much beyond the 28 weeks and the existing Fed tax credit cap threatens to reduce the tax credit (which might happen late 2022), or if Congress caps the tax credit based on high cost of EVs (revives provisions present in failed BBB bill), I'll turn away from Ford. Iām not sure what you mean by a āsemantic matterā. The reality is that the plant was not āidleā last week since I, and other people on this forum, clearly have MMEs that went into production last week. Thereās nothing ambiguous about it. We have the various tracker data to prove it, plus previous posts that describe the process of making the car And how it relates to that tracker data.Yes, thanks.
