Hello,

I know that this issue has been up here before - but will this problem be solved through an OTA-update, or do I have to leave the car to the dealer?

OTA for this problem will probably in 2022, so I would take it to the dealer...

Mine fixed itself, or at least the weather did.
Yeah, cooler weather will make the charging experience quieter as will turning down the amperage of your EVSE if you can. Mine runs 40A on a 50A circuit, and it’s no louder than a refrigerator hum. (To be fair, mine was made after the patch had been applied as well.)

I experienced the loud noise when charging at 48amps. Went away at 32amps. Didn't do more than a few minutes of testing at 40amps and it didn't make the loud noise. As stated, a 2022 update will apply the fix. Unless yours sounds like an aircraft taking off, as mine did, wait for the OTA update unless you are already planning a dealership visit.
