Hey, all! For those experiencing this unexpected fan noise, we recommend you have your Mustang Mach-E diagnosed by your Ford dealership. A TSB has now been released for both North America (TSB 21-2288) and European (TSB 21-2278) dealers to resolve this issue. You can locate your local dealer by using the following link: https://owner.ford.com/service/dealer-locator.html.
Does the dealer need to recreate the issue (hard to do without a high speed charger)?

I get this issue at top speed of my 48 amp, 11.5 kw charger at home.

Does applying this also solve many of the other problems by updating modules?

The dealer does not have to recreate the issue. Just tell them about the issue you're having and give them the TSB number in case they can't find it.

This TSB basically just says to update a bunch of modules to the latest version, which are the same modules that several other TSBs reference as well for other problems, so it's likely several birds will be killed with one stone.

No. The fact they dont mention anything sounds to me like they have no solid solution yet. Ford USA reacted in this thread saying it will likely come in the form of an OTA update. Dont think Im going to have a Dutch dealer fiddling around with me car just yet
Hi there! An OTA update is planned for Q1-2022.

Look at the date....
Sure but dealer told me it is not possible to do via OTA and now I understand it is possible. Dealer also told me its a lengthy process taking at least two hours....

I would guess at least two hours if they are updating all of the modules listed in the bulletin. I have an appointment on Monday to have the updates done. I won't be a great gauge of how long it takes as I am leaving my car with them for a few days while I am out of town.

Yeah, that's totally ridiculous. Everyone having this issue should schedule at their dealer to have the TSB performed.

I had this update performed today at the dealer and the difference in noise is shocking. Its so much quieter now, I kept opening the app to make sure it was charging. I have to say my car after having issues not being able to open front door without opening back door first and then getting in and saying key not detected is working perfect now. Car opens every time and now I see what some of the people on here where saying when they said they don't have PAAK issues. I couldn't understand how that was possible because I had it almost every time I used the car. But now works perfect. So happy with the Mach-e!!

Got the update today at the dealer, the wall of sound reduced to a hum. Not sure how long it took but my car has been there for less than 2,5 hours in total. Job well done Ford!

But then; why does it take until Q1 2022 to do this by OTA? Solving this by OTA would have been much easier. And cheaper.

I had the update yesterday. Took just 1 hour. Happy man here! Its silent now ??
Problem solved, case closed.
But indeed an OTA would have been easier for all parties....but again solved is solved

Hi all. New member here based in the UK. I found you all because of the same noise issue. It only happened at work when I was using their 22KW charger and the security team left a concerned note under my wiper. I now have my Mach-e booked in next week for the update.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who commented on this thread. It was exactly the answer I needed.

I had this issue with my new Mach E and was very concerned. It sounded like a helicopter trying to take off when charging in my garage with my Level 2 Grizzl-e (40 amps). As many others have noted it didn’t have the same issue when charging on lower powered Level 2 chargers such as the Ford mobile charger that comes with the car, even when plugged into the same outlet.

My local Ford dealer applied the TSB 21-2288 update and it works perfectly now.

We love our Mach E!
Even more so now it charges quietly!

I had the same update this week and charged my car at the full 48 amps with no sound at all.
