FYI for all: Price of a kWh is the same whether delivered slowly or quickly unless you have off-peak rates.
Not if your utility has a demand charge...

No Ford expects to provide a solution end of August / September.

I commend you for your patience. Have my MME for 4 days now, and am already fed up with it. I have no garage so need to charge in front of the house. Before charging in daytime I have to check with my neighbour (works night shifts) and charging during the evening/night is impossible because the sound level exceeds legal limits. Totally unacceptable. Will need to reduce the wall box output, it is now 11kw. And that doesn't make my wife very happy, her Tesla M3 is dead quiet when charging. Let's hope Ford resolves this shortly.
Other than that, I am a happy MME-driver:)

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 11.08.2021 (build code MG) may exhibit a strong fan noise whilst charging in level 3. Noise occurs when charging current is approximately 10.5 kW or above.

Interesting that there's now "a fix". I will have to have my dealer apply it.

Interesting that this refers to "level 3 charging". At least in North America, "level 3" means DCFC ....... maybe, in Europe "level 3" means three-phase charging ...... or did the author make a typo?

No, if you read the details it discusses charging above 10.5 kW. It may not help with the overly-loud L2 charging problem but then again it might.

I just installed a Chargepoint Homeflex yesterday, hard-wired, 60 amp breaker. I selected 60A on the Chargepoint App and my Mach-E was charging at 11.25 kW. Quiet in the beginning, then a steady "portable generator" type loud noise. I had to stop charging before my neighbors could complain. I selected 50 amp breaker on the App, getting 9.4 kW, no noise. Keeping my fingers crossed.

They also use the term "mode 3" and mention a specific kWh. The term "wallbox" is used, which I have only seen from UK/EU forum members. If I had to guess I would say this update is designed to address both L2 charging above 10.5 kW and L3.
