So I have managed to buy the pony unit and replacement grille for my UK Mach-e GT (European GTs don’t have the cut out for the grille) I have managed to wire it according to the Ford diagrams and see correct voltages for +12v ground and LIN but no light. I’m guessing there’s an as built toggle to switch it on too. Anyone have any idea what would need changing please? Of course it could be my pony unit is faulty too I guess!

Hmm, I wonder if maybe you need to change a DID switch in the BCM config?

I’ve played around a bit with Forscan and downloaded some us car asbuilt files to try find which flag to set but no luck so far.

You should find out which wires power the headlights and use that for power so it’s always on when your headlights are on. Should be somewhat straightforward that way.

They don't work that way. There is an LED control module built into the headlamps. That module has power all the time and when it gets a signal from the BCM over LIN it powers the LED's. There are NO wires you can tap into anywhere under the frunk that will power a device when the headlights are on. You can tap into an ignition wire so a device can come on anytime the car is on. Also, as far as the lighted grill emblem, I do not believe you can just apply power for it to work. It is LIN controlled. If you were to tap into the LIN connection from the BCM to the LED control module, it will detect excessive current draw and shut down.

Yes it has. This past week, Russ and I have DM chatted about this sharing wiring diagrams, thoughts and ideas. He’s working on it and hopes to get it resolved one way or another. ?
