Thank you for the quick response and detailed explanation. Since I mostly charge at home, the $4 when traveling works better for me too.
Some will go with Ford's annual plan due to Plug and Charge, especially when a spouse can't be bothered to do it any other way.

If Ford is able to roll their discount out to more networks that offer them, then it would be much more sensible for many people. With just EA, it's much easier simple math.

I realize this is an old thread but thought I would ask for an update. Is Ford any closer to an arrangement with EA that allows for the discounted rate? Is RicMachE's advice about how to use the EA app still correct? I tried asking the Blue Oval team this question and they said the only way to allow the EA app to work was to cancel the Blue Oval network membership (i.e., you can't have both apps!). Doesn't sound correct to me. Would like to keep both active. Any advice/experience? Thanks.

[/QUOhave had EA through ford for about a yr. Have had discount rate since day one. Very convenient pull up, plug in, hit start or confirm charge and go get coffee.

I would like to know if they are ever going to offer the discount plan as well. I know they signed up some EA people quite some time ago.

As for keeping Blue Oval active and using an EA discounted rate, I believe that is possible. I might have the steps wrong but I believe you activate the charger in the EA app prior to connecting to the car, then connect the cable to the car. In that order you will get the EA plan price if you are a subscriber and will bypass plug and charge.

You can have both active, but you have to know how to use them. If you use Plug & Charge at an EA station, it will bill through the Blue Oval at the higher rate. If you activate the station in the EA app before plugging in, it bills through EA and you get the pass+ rate.
Unless something has changed recently.
