The rail line is right beside where the vehicle was last parked. You can see the car carriers on google earth. But today I got a message that they did a master reboot of the computer. Since that I have lost contact with my car. Tried to re enter my info but I need someone that’s in the vehicle to press OK. Was just lucky the first time I think. We will see. I will keep trying.
That makes sense - My guess is some employee saw the activation on the screen one day and accepted. Someone probably realized the issue later on and reset it.
Maybe. But, perhaps this is a clue on OKTB delay ... if there was a software issue and they needed to completely re-load, perhaps that reset everything. I guess we'll never know!

Possible loop hole fixed? Or will @Thor188 journeys connect again?

System reboot kind of points to a software hold up, but maybe they needed to initialize the new heat pump installs ;)?

Unfortunately it sounds like your car is now behaving properly. Shame. We could have all watched it's journey real time!

You are supossed to be able to set all your custom settings remotely before picking up the car. I wonder at what point this will actually be possible? Do you have to have completed the paperwork at the dealer for this to happen? That wouldn't help much then.

As I understand it......you set all your custom settings remotely, in your phone. Then when you take delivery, you pair your phone to your car and the settings transfer over. It won't happen before then I don't think.

I was thinking the same thing. The odometer readings are another clue. If your theory is correct and OKTB is related to a software concern then it makes sense that some vehicles would be pulled from the lot and road tested to verify the patch or fix didn't cause any unintended drivability concerns. Since many cars in this group are supposed to be dealer demo cars.....there isn't really much concern putting on a few additional kilometers on the cars. They would likely have road tested dozens of vehicles and we are only aware of the 'lucky one' that showed up on the FordPass app. Presumably because the driver touched the "OK" button on the screen at the lucky moment where the owner attempted to connect.

If I was down there in Mexico, I would have had my hand in the air to volunteer to be a test driver. :) Maybe we all have @Thor188 to thank for taking one for the team so they can get to the business of shipping cars. ?

Or they routinely do a master reset on them all before getting ready to ship, to clear anything left over from testing. Might even be a remote command they can broadcast to all of them OTA now.

Might also be a sign OKTB is about to hit today? (pure speculation)

Agreed. It would have been cool to follow along to see the process.

In case you are curious.....here is the loading guide from 2018 that includes the Focus Electric and Energi cars. There are several references to Transport Mode. I presume @Thor188's car is back in that mode right now (or something similar). I am curious to obtain the new document that includes the 2021 models but I haven't seen it yet. If you run across it, please let me know because I like to read geeky stuff like that. If I were to place a guess.....I would think that Transport Mode in the Mach E disables 1 pedal driving because that could be a tricky thing for the loaders to contend with.

See the attachment in my previous post. I'll have to go back and read it again but I remember some language about one or two different settings these cars can be in during the shipping process. So your idea sounds fairly close to what actually happens.

All settings is not the case and you can set up an avatar (pic), your profile name, add charger locations, schedule daily charging times and set your driver mode (engaged etc.). The fordpass app does not allow you to remote setup until your vin is entered into the system or the vehicle logs on to the network I think. At least it did not work for me until a window sticker was available. No paperwork required from the dealer just a VIN.

From what we've seen, the actual list of what you can set up in advance is rather limited.

I think that after the pandemic is controlled and border reopen, I'll get my wife onto(into) the Pony and have a road trip tp Dearborn MI to visit this plant, well not so sure she will want to go visit a car plant.:D
"The Henry Ford" is the new name for the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village. It's pretty large and both the indoor museum and the outdoor village probably take about a day each to see everything. Your wife might actually enjoy the museum & village. So it's not like you'd do the whole trip over *just* to see an assembly plant tour.

It's a pretty cool place to check out. The Rouge Factory Tour got added in several years back when Ford agreed to form a partnership with the village. You board a bus from the museum that takes you over to the plant ... they do a couple of shows and then you head over into the factory for the tour. You are basically on an overhead walkway above the plant looking down on everything happening below.

Hopefully once the pandemic is under control and vaccine(s) available they'll be able to open everything again.

I was curious to know where this is. I looked at the plant via satellite imagery and I see where they'd normally park the cars that are getting ready to load onto the train... but this was a much smaller loading area than I am used to seeing at most plants (the Rouge Plant where F-150's are made is much larger ... which many more loading ramps).

I wondered if they are parking the cars at an off-property storage lot. (They do that here in Dearborn... we'll sometimes see them parking F-150's that are awaiting shipping at other Ford land in the area.)

I decided my $1.49 wood stick snow brush was not meant for the MME so I got another one delivered today which is identical to the one on page 12 of the PDF; the scrapper is blue. Guessed right ;). At 18" wide it is more of push broom like I use on the trucks when home.

Can I make a connection to the Satellite?
