The good news is they have continued production. With any luck we'll hear they issued OKTB soon and start shipping. Maybe some quick deliveries in Kansas City where the rail cars split East & West and maybe some direct trucks over the border?
An update for anyone that saw I have access to my vehicle location etc thru my Ford Pass. Since being built on Nov 27 I have been checking on it daily. It came out of the factory with 30 km on it. It now has 47 km on it. Noticed it has gone to charge twice and is now parked near the rail lines with a 74% charge. Not sure what will happen with the delay issue. But it seems I should be able to track it once on the rails.

If only it were being built in Dearborn... that plant is about 15 minutes from my house (that would REALLY shorten the delivery timeline!)

That plant does public tours via The Henry Ford (although not currently allowing public tours at the moment): https://www.thehenryford.org/visit/ford-rouge-factory-tour/
Living in Dearborn and having worked in/with the auto industry for a fair percentage of my career, I never bothered to take the tour. But a friend up visiting from Dallas *really* wanted to see the plant (he's a car guy and had never watched cars being built before). They do a really nice job of the tour.
I think that after the pandemic is controlled and border reopen, I'll get my wife onto(into) the Pony and have a road trip tp Dearborn MI to visit this plant, well not so sure she will want to go visit a car plant.:D

The mache is still getting built. The oktb is only 7 days delayed. You're not talking weeks, months, a year. 7 days half of last week was holidays also. If the oktb was a month or longer then i could some complaining.

7 days well I don't know how some people have kids or married lol. Can't tell you the first or last time we were ever ready on time.

It is a small issue and ford needs to right be they ship. Why send out problems and start off bad.
Sure don't want to be a second Tesla, ship it and we'll fix it later kind of thing, that would just destroy all the efforts that Ford have put in this car. Besides the fact that the new CEO wants to work hard at reducing recalls and quality issues that is costing Ford billions of dollar each year.

My point isn't that they should never attempt to give a rating, but rather that a rating should have some basis beyond "it's new." If that is all it is based on, all new cars would be "below average" and it becomes meaningless to give a rating to any individual new car. They could just say, "all new vehicles are below average in reliability'. If they have a basis, they should provide it to support their rating.
Once upon a time you paid for their ability to gather and report actual data based upon real world usage that was otherwise difficult to obtain. Now it seems that's no longer the case.

I think most people are at this point:

Ford Mustang Mach-E OKTB today..? now 2

Or this, if you prefer:

Ford Mustang Mach-E OKTB today..? no

I presume they factor in more than just that one fact. But "predicted reliability" is a pretty silly measure to begin with (for any model). And CR seems to be big on it. It's part of why I don't use them.

Another is that I have no intention of paying for their guesses. ?

The last Ford I had, which was also a direct order, came with 10 miles on it so I was hoping for about the same... or less ;) I was sure to pick it up the day it arrived at the dealer for good luck- 07/07/07

I am going to use COVID as a reason that I want no-one and I mean no one inside it besides the person who takes it off the truck. Also I am asking for nothing on the inside to be prepped. I want all the factory stuff on it and I am there the day it's delivered or next. I am sure since it will be close to first ones they will be tempted to joy ride it. I do have OCD's people and that refresh thing hit home hard. ugh..

I've struggled with CR for awhile now. The recommendations and the testing seem suspect. Even with the product in hand they seem to miss the mark more times then not. This is just an odd article from start to finish.
The thing about CR ... is they try to review everything regardless of industry. Cars, cameras, kitchen blenders, etc. it doesn't matter what it is. There are others who specialize in their industry and *only* review technology they really know.

I have areas where I don't know much and don't follow closely ... and areas where I'm pretty passionate. And every so often I'd see them write a review about a product area where I'm pretty passionate and knowledgable and ... they'd blow the review. It was clear to me that they didn't have people reviewing products who actually *understood* the product, technology, or industry where they were trying to insert themselves as an expert.

I'd rather read a car review done by someone who really knows cars. And if the car is an EV ... I'd rather those reviews really only be done by people who really know EV's.

I suspect they're struggling to stay relevant too. Pre-internet, CR was a pretty big deal (as were magazines). There weren't a lot of places you could turn to as a consumer to get reviews of products before buying them.

Well, the internet changed all that. Not only are there ton's of reviews and research material easily available elsewhere now, it's usually FREE. Which shoots holes all over CR's business model.
