The whole idea is to get the car to a comfortable temperature level before we stick our heads into it, so by the time we are done loading, we’ll be good to go. It doesn’t help that the seats aren’t ventilated either, so getting the cabin to cool while we’re loading is kinda important for some of us. It saves us time, sweat, and a potential migraine. Why?
What's the purpose of remote starting first? When you open the frunk, it will turn off. Just skip your first step, unless you're talking about letting the cabin warm / cool.
So if your loading process takes a long time, take @RickMachE ’s advice and open, remote start, then load. If your loading process is short, just remote start with enough lead time, open the frunk, then load. If the loading process is short and the cabin has been preconditioned, the car should not be unbearable. My other cars don’t have A/C, and while they can be hot I wouldn’t call them unbearable when I get in (maybe because they don’t have A/C and the conditions are expected?). ??
Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree that it’s a dumb glitch. The first time I encountered it I thought that my shut-down timer had expired. I’m living with it and don’t mind it for the foreseeable future, but hopefully an update to the HVAC systems, GFM, or BCM will stop this behavior. ?<SNIP>
Still think it’s a bit of an oversight on Ford and other legacy auto makers to not have these little kinks fully worked out
