I have a Select... the black trim is 'raw' plastic which looks ok when clean and 'blacked' with tire wet products; but quickly gathers dust, dirt, or turns gray.

would wrap stick to this raw trim?
would it require sanding to remove silicone 'blacking/sealing' agents I've used so far before wrapping?
whats the guess on cost of wrapping versus painting ?

I feel your pain. My Select AWD is still in production, but I am already agonizing what to do about the plastic trim fender flares. It’s more than $60k up here in Canada, so I don’t feel I cheaped out and got the base model! (I did, didn’t I!?) I love the styling along the lines of the Premium and GT body kit. It really gets me thinking about a solution to the cheap looking Select wheel arches. Maybe AOSK will make us some Carbon ones, ready for wrap?

Others have found the gloss trim available on the ford parts website you may just be able to replace it or buy the replacement wrap that and then put it on your car.

I have never had any wrap applied... can it even go on raw plastic, or would it have to be sanded/primed first to stick well? At that point, it would be just as easy to paint...

My wrap shop would not do the trim on my select.

I was going to start a thread about this very issue. I don’t care for the gray trim but I don’t necessarily like the gloss trim either. I would would prefer matte black. The problem is that it’s not just on the bottom of the car, if I did matte black I would then have gloss black trim, matte black trim, and gray trim in some areas of the vehicle.

why not? did they tell you ? will it not stick ?
Did not believe it would stick well - had previously attempted unpainted plastic and could not guarantee a good result.

makes sense.... especially after a couple applications of various products I've tried to keep it black, and not collect dust, which seems to be mutually exclusive.
