Ordered Then Purchased Another from a different Dealer

So I ordered a Premium in February and today purchased a Mach-e from a dealer with an early June delivery date. Looking for some advice on the best course of action for the ordered one. It’s still in Ordered status. I’m guessing a fall or winter delivery based on info from this forum.

We also ordered in February and when we were still without a build date last week. I started looking around I was able to locate one a couple of hours away that was an abandoned order. I contacted our original dealer they agreed to cancel and refund our deposit. We picked up our new Mach-e today and had a nice drive back. So original dealer will likely be ok to refund any deposit. They know they will be able to sell it anyway once it does come in.

Congratulations! Persistence pays off eh? Our deposit is refundable for sure. So the dealer will take delivery even though the order is canceled?

My original dealer said they would as they knew they would sell it quick or pre-sell once they do have a build date. For where I am max each dealer could order for this year was 5 so gives them extra inventory for it anyway.

If the new dealer isn't going to have the car until June, I'd leave your original order alone for now. How annoyed would you be if you canceled the original order and something falls through with the new one? When you say you purchased the new one, do you mean you put a deposit on it or you actually purchased a car that isn't expected to arrive for 6+ weeks?

Exactly / my thinking as well. I'll cancel after I take possession. It's not over until it's over.

I will find out today. I have a order date of 2-6-21, build date of 6-7-21. Delivery ???
I purchased the same car I ordered on 4-23-21 . I will cancel my order with dealer when they open.
Just called dealer: I will have my $500.00 refund check in the mail in 2 weeks.

Yeah as I mentioned previously I’m not canceling until I’m driving my new car home. I put a deposit down. It’s in transit.
