I was catching up on anything new at https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2021/FORD/MUSTANG%2520MACH-E/SUV/RWD#manufacturerCommunications and noticed an 8/22 communication (NHTSA ID #10218917) where Ford has published a tiny bit of release notes for Priority Update 22-PU0727-VI-FX:

Priority Update 22-PU0727-VI-FX for 2021-2022 Model Year Mustang Mach-E vehicles is now available. Quality Improvements Include: Prevent "failure to de-inhibit" condition on future PSCM OTA updates.

There's not currently any document released with the above communication.

PSCM is likely Power Steering Control Module.
Nice.
De-inhibit?
That one made my brain hurt....

Is that really a word or did they invent it?
Communicating well is one of the hardest tasks for most professional engineers.

This is particularly difficult: failure to de-inhibit. It feels like a triple negative even though it isn't.

The person who published it knew it was awkward. They put it in quotation marks!

I read this as: We're publishing this update to correct a known issue that could otherwise cause the vehicle to remain in a lockout, no-start state after completion of upcoming/planned power steering control module updates.
