Yep, I also have this problem on my '22. Often buttons are lit and doors are unlocked but i have to press several times to open the door.
Ditto, I had the same problem unlocking the rear driver door on my '25, until today. I received the OTA software update, which fixed the issue.

Got your message. Details are below. All 4 door modules were updated to the AD strategy. Install took 6 minutes with the vehicle in inhibit mode.

@elmedico27 So you can copy/paste to github:

Group ID 1 - Priority Update – Vehicle Doors

Side Door Operation

  • This software update contains the following key changes:
  • Prevents a potential future issue that may result in the side doors being unable to unlock when commanded from the exterior of the vehicle.
  • In some instances after this update, a "Service vehicle soon" wrench icon may appear in your instrument cluster and will remain visible until you dismiss it by pressing the "OK" button on your steering wheel, or it will clear automatically with the next ignition cycle. You may also receive a FordPass notification indicating service is needed on the vehicle, which you can disregard. Please be assured this is a visual notification only and does not indicate any functional impact on your vehicle.

Just last week I had the dealer update the 12 Volt battery fix. But when I log into my account, it says I've had no updates in the last 90 days. Is this normal?

Also, I've had a few times where I had to push the button to open the door multiple times. So hopefully they'll push DCMX-25.AD out to we '21 owners.

Hah, here I thought it was just me. Vehicle wakes up 10' away, but often doesn't unlock until multiple presses. Never occurred it was a software thing. I was contemplating a new battery for my fob.
The dealer actually put a new battery in my fob about 3 months ago and it's still been happening to me occasionally.

No doubt. It was just a thought at the time. Looking back it wakes from 10’ away. I figured the door button was a different receiver. Found if I was real close to the door it opened. So guessed battery. Tried different pockets for the fob. Just now realizing I went through some silly adaptations. All for buggy software :bandit:

90 days without an OTA is perfectly normal. Whether an owner thinks that is acceptable or not is a different argument, but going 3 months without getting an update is par for the course.....even if the vehicle is not up to date.

I don't see why 2021's would not get it. If the update affects all model years, it is safe to assume Ford is going to send it to all model years. This is something I would find to be extremely annoying. So far, it seems like only 2025 owners have reported it, but it is most likley a phased roll-out like usual where they go out to batches of vehicles at a time.

Awe but your troubleshooting instinct took over and was doing a great job helping you figure it out!

My comment about 90 days was really just a way of trying to ask why when, I JUST had the dealer update that module per the recall, it's not showing on my Ford page that it was completed. I mean after all, it's a software update.

Oh, that can take a while to come off after the dealer does it.

Just got it today and couldn't believe how good it worked to have the door pop open on the first press.
