So you are thinking bluetooth to car to internet that is possible. Will that connect thru the satellite if it is out of cell range. @ChasingCoral had no phone cell service when it happened to them.
Don’t know about Android but an iPhone can share an internet connection using WiFi, bluetooth, or a usb connection. If the car is connected to the FordPass app it has access to the network connections of the phone.

Update: FordPass App still will not give me the link to re- "Setup phone as a Key" on the Home screen. The Plug & Charge option never came back either. Ford Dealerships in our area says they can not see the car until Mid-September.

Love the car. Hate the APP. Just give me another FOB. PLEASE

Darn. Sounds like time to call the dealer for an appointment and use the FOB in the meantime.
Be careful, my dealer just called to ask me to unlock the car, since the 1 and only FOB I have is locked in the car at the dealership :)

If the FOB is in the car and the car is locked, you have issues beyond not being able to use PaaK.

My Paak is out too, no longer have any options either on FordPass or MME to set up Paak. Paak has just totally disappeared.

I reset everything, tried a master reset, did the 12V cold boot, all OTA worked okay, latest version Ford Pass, all modules updated by Ford service FDRS software by new dealer including 12V TSB, and Paak 21B36. 12V cold boot (battery cable after all updates).

FordPass help says the problem is my MME Paak entry on their side (all other FordPass features work fine, including my blue oval charging balance), I am told that Paak is a different feature/entry on the Ford servers.

Ford is working my problem, not worried at all. fob is fine for now. MME works perfectly otherwise, I continue to be a happy camper!
So you got all this help from the dealer??

I did the resets and cold boots (12V battery negative terminal lifted). The dealer did the module programming with FORD FDRS, the FORD software for techs.

Still no option for Paak or backup start code. I imagine FORD will call me someday, or the Paak option will just show up again someday. Everything else is perfect, as far as I can tell.

The key fob does the job fine for me. One driver, so no issue needing a second fob.

I put the FOB in a Faraday bag and hide it in the car just in case. Haven't had to use it yet because I trained myself to open the passenger door and not even bother trying to open the driver door it never works. When back door doesn't work I enter code to get in car. Just waiting for more software updates in hopes all get fixed. One can dream!

once you have FP successfully installed, and set up your BackupStartCode, you are 'all set' to leave your fob at home in the drawer.

I'm not planning on allowing my phone to update FP on my phone until the battery consumption issues is fixed.... I will continue using the 'force stop' of the app when I am not driving, and start the app back up manually upon approach to drive. This solves both the battery consumption problem and the connectivity on approach.

Thank you for all the information. Got my iPhone 12max working again as PAAK.

Just a quick update - So I left off, maybe 8 weeks ago after I did master reset, I lost all Paak options, not just the features, but all of the options were gone both in the car and FordPass. Not a big deal, but on my list to fix someday. I spent many hours on the phone with FordPass trying all kinds of resets and settings. At first FordPass said the problem appeared to be on a Ford server. Later, a rep. said my module was set to not allow Paak. The problem was expedited. I never heard back (about two months), but I also did not call back. It looked like I was headed towards a module replacement.

I recently bought the Mongoose J2534 passthrough device and rented the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) software for two days. On my list of things to try and explore, first I repeated the customer satisfaction program 21B36, no change as far as I noticed. Later on that first day, I ran some other RFA module routines, I think including RFA configuration. Anyway, the two day rental passed, I moved onto other things, only to notice yesterday morning that FordPass on the iPhone was asking if I wanted to set up Paak! I set it up this morning, just like that first day at the dealership. Paak is back! Apology for not keeping more methodical notes for what I ran on the RFA module, but that apparently is what did the trick. I think it is pretty cool that Ford lets DIY types access the professional software to try to solve some of our own vehicle problems and to learn more about our MME. Thanks Ford!

(Update: according to my FDRS history, it was RFA initialization)
