Made a quick trip to pickup some takeout and just took my phone. Parked at the restaurant and turned off the car. The doors locked using the walk away feature and unlocked as I approached the car. Everything working as expected. I get back home and stop at the end of the driveway to grab the mail, so I didn’t turnoff the car. Got back in and was greeted with “No Key Fob” message and was unable to put the car in drive. It took me a second to gather my wits because I actually thought I had grabbed the key fob before I left, so I thought my keys must have fallen out of my pocket when I was getting back in the car. I got out and looked around and no keys. Got back in and same message. Then I thought they must have fallen out at the restaurant? I was able to put the car in drive once I cleared the message and pulled into the garage. I went inside to drop off the food before going back to the restaurant to look for my keys. Inside I checked the side table and there were my keys!
tl;dr: If you are using PaaK and exit the car without turning it off, you will get a message about the fob missing when you get back in the car. It’s like once you start the car with PaaK it forgets you’re using PaaK.
