PAAK....Is this a feature or a bug?

Are you successfully using PAAK, or phone as a key, to enter and start the vehicle on a daily basis.

I very rarely (~1% of the time) carry my key.
PaaK often takes several seconds to unlock, which results in me using the door code ~10% of the time. In those cases, it's almost always connected by the time I hit the start button. When it's not (~1% of the time overall), I end up using the backup start passcode rather than futzing with the app, mostly just to verify it's working and I remember the code.
I often unlock my phone and, to a lesser extent, open FordPass while approaching the car, as that seems to help.

In short, for me, PaaK's the slightly more convenient option for daily driving. For situations where it'd suck to have it totally fail (pressed for time, or road trips), I bring a key.

I see you conveniently cut off the 'YMMV' when you quoted my post. You do know what that means, right??
Could you teach the class? (me)? I have no clue what that means.

At first, I wasn’t going to use PaaK because I hate carrying my phone. That had nothing to do with PaaK and everything to do with how much of a nuisance carrying the phone is to me. I did set up PaaK when I got my car home, however. I have been using it ever since. It has only failed me a few times, and each time I was able to make it work again by either force-quitting the app and restarting (once), restarting the phone (once), or restarting BT. Today, I got a “No key detected” warning after PaaK successfully got me in the car and I had successfully started the car. I drove home from work without any trouble or further intervention between me and the phone or me and the car. ?‍♂??
I will have to figure out if this feature will work for me. I normally leave my personal phone locked in the car while I’m working. Work phone goes with me during my work day. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years. Not sure I can retrain my brain to pick up my personal phone too.

I mostly use it when I forget to grab my key on the way out the door. Most of the time I don't even realize I didn't bring my key until I'm well into the trip or already back home, so I think that's a sign that it's working pretty well. I wouldn't have said that before the last update, though.

I hate to pick that it works "every time" but I've been driving this thing for 14 months and I only use the plastic key thingie when I take it somewhere for service (detailing, 10,000 mile service, recall).
Same here. I actually had to drive back home once before dropping it at the dealership because I didn't even think to take my key fob. I don't ever carry it unless I know I'm valet parking somewhere, Ford should include a stack of business cards with one-time valet codes on it :)

Not a PAAK user. Because I cannot carry my phone at work, I leave it in the car. Bluetooth is turned off while the phone is there, thus rendering PAAK useless to me. I just use the FOB, which can be just as quirky as PAAK has been (taking two to three presses to actually unlock the car; slow wake up process maybe?). Not terribly bothered by it though. The car is still a hoot to drive and with solar, I get 95% my juice for free (panels are paid for; not chuffed about long-term ROI).

We don’t live in a perfect world but from my Wife’s experience with PAAK I would have to say the Fob is far less quirky!! PAAK did not work well for my Wife who carries her phone in her purse!
