Have have not set up my android phone as a key, but I saw a video yesterday that stated if you use PAAK, you do not need to press the start/stop
button to start and stop the "Engine", is that true?

Not in my car. PAAK just uses the phone to act as a fob. You still have to press the start button.

Yes it does work - at least for me. And it's great because it's over 112 degrees here and I can start it remotely and wait a few minutes and then get in to a moderately cool car.

Yeah, but to drive the car anywhere you still have to press the button.

Okay, so what I think you mean is this. You can remotely start your car with PAAK. You press and hold “start” on the app and the car will turn on. Great for cooling it down or warming up the cabin. However once you enter the car and want to drive away, you need to press the button on the dash to drive.

Thank you for the reply, but that is not what I meant.
The start button on the app worked (sometimes) on my escape, so I understand the app.
I meat simply that if using the PAAK, when you sit in the car, will it automatically start if you are using the PAAK., In other posts, the answer has been no, the start/stop button must be clicked.
I thank everyone who answered my question.

Anyone know of an aftermarket modification that will allow the Mach-e to start /stop like a Tesla?

Personally, I wouldn’t mind a little spring-loaded twist toggle. Position 0: Off, Position 1: Accessory, Position 3: Run, Position 4: Engage starter. ?? OK we can probably do without position 4. ??

I'm good as long as I don't have to go back to these.

I certainly would like to ditch the start button, but it's not that big deal to me.

What genuinely does bug me is the whole idea of "remote start". The whole thing is based on ICE safety. Off the top of my head, a few behaviors that are totally unnecessary for an EV:
  • Limiting the number of remote starts to 2
  • Turning on running lights
  • Cutting off the climate control when the frunk opens
Instead of remote start it should just be "turn on the climate control for x number of minutes"

....end rant
