Park Brake Fault

Has anyone else had the failure happen to them for a Park Brake Fault? It canceled the Autohold as well and can not be reset. I got it to clear by setting the Parking Brake on and then off but it returned within a mile of driving. Seeing if anyone hit this before I call the Ford Service department and get the usual poor response when I tell them it is a MME.

Most of these that I've seen are from corroded, rodent damage, or accidental disconnects, of the wiring/harnesses for the Park Brake. Either way, it's something you need to take it in for.

The parking brake harness connectors will have to be replaced. Mention the program number 22P31 to your dealer.

Thanks for this detail - I will provide to my service guys at the dealer. Sad part is that they can't even get the car in for service for 10 days!

Yep! Headed to the dealership Monday to get it addressed.

I had this at 58,000 miles before I sent ‘Stangy in for its 2nd service.

Left rear park brake wouldn’t apply, they changed the park brake harnesses and all’s well now.

Amusingly, though, when they first got the car in, they got the brake to apply and couldn’t get it to release so it became stuck on their ramp?

Does anyone know if this is covered under a warranty - I am outside the 3 year - 36,000 mile. The dealership quoted me almost $700 to fix this. Thanks!

It was previously covered for vehicles built during a specific timeframe under CSP 22P31. However that CSP expired earlier this year. I think you’re out of luck.
