What’s wrong with your center speaker?
It sounds as if it is blown or multiple signals hitting it almost simultaneously. No matter what the sound is: alerts, tones, music , phone calls

I’ve seen threads for clip part numbers and done searches for them on other sites. Too confusing to know which ones are truly correct and for what panel/part…. Can you share the part numbers of the bags you were provided? tIA

I'm curious about your center speaker issue. For like a week on and off I've been having a problem where a speaker sounds blown when it does the double tone to warn you about school zones and during some music. But in between the days where it does it, there are times when everything sounds fine, including the double tone. Is this the same thing that was happening with your speaker? I'm going to try to make an appointment for the beginning of August, but trying to look for what could be causing it. I didn't have my car for 3 months because I got rearended, and it started exactly a week after I got the car back.

Ours only sounds decent if we set it to Stereo and only the rear speakers. It’s never intermittent.

sometimes I think it’s a double signal… other times it sounds like it’s blown… other times it sounds like an old phonograph…

but it never sounds right anymore. I still have not removed the panels and disconnected the 12v as suggested. I’ve been out of state for w*rk and busy with other things.

we are now getting all kinds of faults being generated:
Hill Start Assist
Door Module error
Front passenger window one click
Hear hatch auto lift & close
Auto Hold

seems that Ford and OTA May be doing more to the vehicles remotely than they will admit to. Just like Apple and iPhones.

we never had any problems until the Stealership Fiasco and the the Phantom OTA.

Did you ever figure out the center speaker issue? I am dealing with that also. It started about 2 weeks ago for me.

So, I work at a different Ford plant and have been talking to the electrical repair guys and they think mine might be a problem with the dsp overheating. I know mine is intermittent and you said yours isn't, but yours still could be the dsp based on my talks with people, so that's another thing to maybe have them look into. Someone at my work might test mine for me, because the technician has only checked my speaker so far since it took three times before he finally heard it. Mine is also wayyyy worse in surround than in stereo, but it usually doesn't start sounding bad until I've been driving for 10+ minutes.

thanks for the info. We dropped it off at a different Dealership on Thursday night and I gave them all the background on this and a slew of additional issues that have come up over the last two months…

I’ll send them a note onTuesday and mention again to check the DSP. I told them when we dropped it off it seems like the DSP is with sending mixed signals or not programmed correctly. Didn’t think about overheating.

I think the last 3 OTAs have caused more issues than fixed.

we still love the car, but I think we are going to see about buying the extended warranty now.

let me know how yours goes. I’ll do the same!

Yeah that sounds like overheating if it stops working after a while but OP's problem sounds like it's a wiring or software issue, or a bad speaker.

I'd recommend resetting the DSP module with a scan tool and performing a self-test, checking for codes. You can use FORScan.

Did you ever get your problems figured out? Mine just ended up being the speaker. The guys at work tested the DSP and it didn't give any codes. Then the dealership got the ok to replace the speaker under warranty, and it has sounded better ever since. One of the guys at work said it could have just been a bad solder that was making mine an intermittent issue.
