Anyone get this error message when trying PaaK for a second profile for your MME?

"Wrong device selected! Please press the lock button ona phone."

Tried multiple times, shut and reopened the app, and still getting this error.

I did and it worked. Did you press and hold the "lock button" in the FordPass app of the new phone? If not, that's what you should have done.

Yup I did that and it gave that error message each time. Did you set it up as a PaaK before adding it to the user profile or vice versa? I set up the PaaK first then created the profile and tried to associate them and that's when it kept failing.

For both my PaaK I setup the phone first and then associated them with the profile.

Well ok: I setup my phone about 3 different times until it worked and then setting up the 2nd phone was easy.

You might want to go through your profiles and see if that phone got associated with a different profile accidentally.

Worked for me. However, many of the FordPass features are a bit buggy. You may just need to try it again. If that doesn't work, try removing the app from the phone, reinstalling it and activating PAAK again.

I made a new profile and added a PaaK to that profile. I didn't know there's another way.

You did it right. You want each phone to have a separate profile in the car so the car can adjust to the driver.

Doh... that was it. Phone got associated with a different profile as it was in the car at the same time as the other PaaK phone! Did it without the other phone nearby and it worked like a charm. Thanks all!

Followup question: did you have to have the second phone's owner set up a fordpass account as well, or can you share one account with 2 phones?

I believe I've read you can do it either way, but having an account for each person would seem to be cleaner. That way for each person you have one phone, one PAAK, and one account. I've done other things by having multiple phones on one account and it always seems to get messy.

This is definitely something I could have done. So you've saved me from myself.

I did the opposite of @DBC . I have one Ford Pass account and each phone as its own PaaK. Since the car is under one account and we share, I don't want my wife to have to deal with things regarding Ford, just be able to use the car.

I had my wife create a second Fordpass account, but in retrospect the single account route sounds simpler. The registration, adding vehicle and all that setup again was a bit of a pain...

sure this has been asked but what happens when 2 phones are setup and they both enter the car does it ask you which one is the driver?

My 2 honda keys have same functionality. When my wife and I approach the car, the person that is near the driver side wins.
