Piece hanging from under carriage

I noticed a piece of soft type material, by soft I mean flexible, hanging from the right wheel axle area. It appears to be torn. Not sure what to call it. It seems like it would easy to replace if I knew what to order. Thanks for your help.

There is a bolt and threaded clip that holds it up there. It worked itself loose. Mine came off after the first HVBJB replacement.

I think this is pretty common. I’ve seen two other MMEs in Austin with that panel hanging down. When it happened to mine, I asked my dealer to reattach it when I had the car in for its 60K service. They didn’t even charge me for it, since the car was already up on the lift for the tire rotation.

Mine was noticed hanging down just this past weekend. I called the dealer's parts department and they could not help me. I then took it to the service department, and they told me that the splash shield is only sold as a unit with its hardware and that they cannot order the bolt and nut separately. They have ordered ones they think will work. Right now this splash shield piece is held up with a stainless steel zip tie.

I listed the part numbers earlier in this thread. I have photos of them but right now a little busy with thanksgiving. I’ll be free in a few hours.

That looks like the piece that came loose and started dragging on the ground after I drove through some high water. I tucked it back up but I forgot to check if I need to replace it as it might not be very secure. This thread is a good reminder for me and appreciate the part info for ordering.
