Planned road trip.

I am planning to do a road trip the first week in June. The hard part was from Rawlings,Wy to Jackson. There were no DCFCs between them. There were plans to have an EA and Flying J in Rock Springs with the EA mostly done. Tge EA has been physically in place for about 18 months.

Well today I looked on X and EA announced on the 19th that the station is on line! I had been planning on using a 14-50 at the hotel now that’s not needed.

The next hard spot is again In Wyoming. Go in big from Billings MT to Gillette WY calls for a stop
In Sheridan. The only choice here is a Jeep dealership.

Both of these have Tesla but both are version 1 or 2 so not an option for MME owners.

The good news is that EA charges by the minute, and it is very, very cheap. 28 cents per minute works out to under 18 cents per kWh, or less, with a Mach-E, and even cheaper with the Lightning.

No question when I originally posted. Now where did you charge in Rock Springs, hotel?

I ask because from EA they just announced the Smith location opening on April 19. Plug share still shows Flying j as coming soon.

You are correct. I did verify it was not yet functioning, quock look thought I charged there. I charged in Evanston, Rawlins, and Cheyenne. It was a long haul from Evanston to Rawlins, left with 90%, ABRP recommended 55 or 60. Drove 60, then 65, then faster, arriving with 22%.

We are going east through Montana and Wyoming and west through Wyoming. I refuse to drive more than. 500 miles a day so staying in Missoula and Billings on the way out and Rock Springs, Jackson on the way back. Do a tour of Grand Teton then continue westward.

We do at most 500, sometimes 450. We went west through Colorado, east through Montana. Drove from Elko, NV to Rawlins, WY, which was just over 500. We were doing CA to MI, and focused on getting home. CA to Elko to Rawlings to Grand Island, NE to Coralville, IA to home.

We are going Seattle to Black Hills and back only timeline is getting there coming back can take our time and goof around.

This is good news, I think this was the only charging gap on my route between Dallas and Portland I'm driving in a few weeks. I may get my A2Z adapter before then (they said it should ship this week, but we'll see), but I was planning to swing through SLC from Denver just to avoid that gap, but assuming it works as planned I should be covered.

I have the A2Z and will use superchargers across WA and MT. 2 of the SC in WA are Magic Dock equipped.

We used the DC Fast charging station at the Jeep dealership in Sheridan WY last Summer before climbing the pass over the Bighorn Mountains to Cody WY and then the Yellowstone NP. It worked well for us.

It's in the back far end of their parking lot.

Well, there are always L2s like NEMA 14-50s and Tesla Destinations.

If you do stop in at Yellowstone there are several DC Fast points there by the Old Faithful cabins although they are kind of hidden... although that just might be a good thing ?. also remember charging at the Mammoth Springs "village" but by now I'm not sure if that was a DC Fast or a Level 2 ChargePoint station.

That is surprising. I l tried planning a route back through MT over to west Yellowstone then into GT park but I didn’t see any DCFC in the Yellowstone Park. I will look again.

The ones by the Old Faithful lodging cabins are definitely there... we charged on them twice. Like I said though, they are a bit hidden.
