All, thanks for the input. I’ve decided to pass. Much appreciated!
I bought a buyback once it was a 2019 Ford Escape. They had rebuilt the long block. I bought the extended warranty for it. It was a new car extended warranty since it was still under the original warranty which appears that car was. Any problems I had were covered by the warranty and I got a free loaner while it was in the shop. You might still want to consider it if you do just make sure you buy an extended warranty. On my 22 Mach E, I bought that new and also bought an extended warranty I always buy an extended warranty it's always turns out to be worth it. On this car I have a 6-year 150,000 mile warranty

Check "View Pricing Summary" and then "Details" using that link. You will see a line for "Dealer Adjustment". If the dealer really and truly wants to sell this car at, let's say, a $10,000 discount, above and beyond the promotions that Ford nationally are offering, they would adjust this Dealer Adjustment to show -10,000.

But they don't. That means that either their internet guy is completely incompetent (because it's quick and easy for the dealers to change the amount of Dealer Adjustment), or (more likely) they're not really selling the car with a $10,000 dealer discount.

Not sure what to tell you other than to call the dealership.

It’s on their website at the same price-
https://www.peachford.net/new/Ford/2023-Ford-Mustang+Mach-E-daae52dc0a0e0a932cb60c1ee58d42dc.htm

And if that one doesn’t pan out, there are dozens of others listed online at different dealers in the low $40s.

FWIW, this is exactly how I got a killer deal on a leftover 2015 Chevy SS sedan in 2016.

There was 1 dealer in Indiana blowing them out. So I figured out how my much it would cost to ship it to me and then called 7 other dealers who still had one to see who could ship it to me cheaper.

Got one 500 miles away to my door for $36k. Dealers get desperate sometimes when it’s mid year and they still have last yrs model rotting on the lot.

I sold it to CarMax in 2021 for $45k when I got my GTPE.

They also have a 2023 Premium listed for $47K, $5K more than the GT, which doesn't make much sense unless the GT is a demo:

For whatever reason, the deals seem to be on the 2023 GTs right now.

And yeah, demos have HUGE discounts-

Either way, multiple people here have posted recently buying new GTs in the low 40s. The deals do exist…..until they’re gone.

It also makes sense that a 2023 base GT would HAVE to be in the low 40s.

A 2024 GT is $53k and comes with the GTPE seats, brakes and mag ride. Plus can be had with more tq for $54k-

Another listing on CarGurus ... $44K ...

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/new/searchresults.action?zip=34205&inventorySearchWidgetType=NEW_CAR&trimNames=GT AWD&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=untrackedWithinSite_false_0&distance=50000&sortType=PRICE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d2990&startYear=2023#listing=355610062/NONE/DEFAULT

If you check their fine print, you see this ... purchase price is almost $49K ... plus ... plus ... ... so that listed price only applies to a lease:

" PRICE SHOWN INCLUDES $7,500 FORD LEASE INCENTIVE, RETAIL PURCHASE PRICE IS $48740 WITH 0% FOR 72 MONTHS *** Price excludes tax, title, registration and document preparation fee ($188). Additional Services Fee of $199 may apply for out of state purchases *** Price may include rebates that require financing through either FMCC or Chrysler Capital. Most customers can qualify. All other rebates included in the price shown are available to everyone in the Chicago region. The manufacturer controls rebates so residency restrictions may apply (but not usually). Dealer installed accessories (shown in pictures but not on window sticker) are not included in price. Listing accuracy is our goal but is not guaranteed. *** "

A lot of the offerings don't even mention the "fine print" until you start communicating with the dealer by e-mail or phone. Other listings tell you in the "fine print" that you need to include a trade-in to get that price, and that if you don't have a trade-in, the price might be $5K higher. Lots of shit like that going on. I agree with you, that it shouldn't be legal, but in a lot of places, it seems to be legal.

You would be crazy to pay $49k for a base 2023 GT when you can get a 2024 GT for $54k (or less with X plan) and it has the bigger brakes, mag ride, GTPE seats and can have 700 lb/ft of tq.

After spending 8 years of my career doing advertising for local auto dealers….. I know very well how car pricing works and how to get deals.

FWIW, dealer #2 putting the lease $ in the fine print means nothing for dealer #1.

Agreed.

The lease rebate that brings the price down to the low-to-mid 40s for a 2023, and 1.1% APR on the lease, makes that option something worth thinking about. But if you're purchasing at $49K, the no-brainer decision is to wait for the 2024 GT.
