Every time I connect my phone to the car wirelessly via Android Auto it connects to the car via a WiFi spot. Is it possible to somehow also be connected to an internet WiFi spot? For example, in my garage I have no internet access. So can't do anything "online" when in my car in the garage.

Sadly, no. The wifi chip in most (probably all) smartphones is only capable of connecting to one device at a time. Your only other option is to use a USB cable to free up your wifi chip

As the other poster mentioned, it isn't possible. Wireless AA/Carplay uses Wifi Direct, which ties up your phone's Wifi connection, so you can't use Wireless AA/Carplay and another Wifi connection at the same time.

If you plug in via USB, you can.
