Can we put pressure on Ford to ask why POWERFOLD MIRRORS are not standard on all european models?!
The RWD versions definitely do NOT have POWERFOLD MIRRORS which is crazy considering all the width restrictions in towns in the UK.

Crazy, I know! I recently got forced onto a diversion due to an accident on the main road, down narrow country lanes with nose-to-tail traffic both ways. I leaned out of my drivers window to manually fold my mirror in but couldn't do anything about the passenger side mirror which constantly got attacked by overgrown hedges!

RWD models with the Extended Range battery do have Power fold mirrors. It’s only the Standard Range Battery (which was the entry level model) that don’t.

I’ll admit that a car of that value not having power fold mirrors is a bit mean, but how else are they gonna tease you up to the next model in the range to earn them extra $$$$ ?

So out of the five models available in the UK, only one of them doesn’t have power mirrors.

I have a RWD with standard battery and the technology plus package and it does have electric folding mirrors.

Makes sense that one would need to buy the Technology package.

Isn't a buyer responsible for checking to see what options various packages offer and selecting one that fits their needs? Or is the Mach-E in Europe the only vehicle where a model doesn't have power folding mirrors?

mine is a RWD with standard battery and the technology plus package and it does have electric folding mirrors too..
Both of these are Spanish models which were available in different configurations- the OP was complaining about UK models.

In the 2021 UK models the Tech+ Pack was bundled with the Extended Range Battery, so you couldn’t select as a stand-alone option. That meant it wasn’t available on the Standard Range RWD model (hence why no power fold mirrors)

It’s totally the responsibility of the buyer to check - which is why I have absolutely no sympathy for people who then come on here demanding we lobby Ford for change simply because they didn’t read the spec sheet.

…and there are tons of cars that don’t come with power fold mirrors here. So again, no sympathy! LOL

My budget would only stretch to the SR RWD so I was faced with the dilemma, do I get a Mach E and put up without power folding wing mirrors, or get a completely different EV? I chose the SR RWD Mach E fully knowing the mirror situation, but in this day and age on a 40k car it does seem a bit stingy!

Higher priced F-150s lack powerfold mirrors, and have for many years.

The F150 isn’t that much of a thing in the UK. Narrow country (and many older city) roads are.

I was just replying to the "it's a $40,000 vehicle". Trucks are more than that and they don't have power fold mirrors.

Agreed - heck my 2019 GT350 doesn't have power fold mirrors. Our Mach-e was the first vehicle we have ever had with them.

Same here. Our Titanium Fusion Energi didn't have them either. Had to go to Platinum to get them.

It’s a £40,000 vehicle which at today’s conversion rate is approximately $54,000 USD. (The base 2022 RWD model is currently £42530 or a bit over $57,000 USD). More importantly though, cars need to be tailored to the local market. Power folding mirrors are not strictly a necessity in either country but are more of a thing traversing back streets in cities older than the United States and on things masquerading as a two lane country road. The only time folding mirrors are a necessity for me is when I’m parking the Raptor in its garage slot which has a one car garage door. It won’t fit otherwise. And that’s what many of the country roads I’ve seen in rural Ayrshire are like (which may or may not be like the op’s).

Generally, my own feeling is that at 54,000+ USD making folding mirrors standard isn’t a big issue when doing the UK design. But I’m also not in the car manufacturing business and never will be in this lifetime. And the limitations of the car were known at the time of delivery.
