I think if an OTA arrives and the software module is already up to date, it indicates success even though nothing happened.

Now that OTAs are coming out quickly and reliably, I wonder if FDRS is even needed anymore? Is there any new feature or function you can only get via FDRS now? Before OTAs got going it made a lot of sense. Now I think I am good just to wait for the next OTA update.
It used to be that OTA updates would fail if the affected module was already updated with FDRS. But they’ve fixed that, so now the OTA update just doesn’t happen at all if it’s already up to date.

There are still some module updates that have only been released via FDRS (like the BCM and GFM updates required for Job 1 frunking).

'23 - EA - nothing.

Wondering if any '23 will be getting this update ?

Recent change was the EA beta feature to charge from Sync....

So yesterday, I got 5.1.1. I did not gain a frunk button, but I did lose ability to modify charge settings. Both in FordPass and in the cat. WTF @Ford Motor Company !!!

When plugged in, FP is missing charging button, so I can't use charge to 100% option, but it does show updated SOC. After finishing charging, it doesn't update the charge logs.

It does have this new message "Please update settings to enable in-vehicle connectivity.", but there doesn't seem to be anything to update.

After a couple of drives, the feature returned.

You guys are all celebrating the addition of Frunk to FordPass.

Starting soon, FordPass will cost $800 per year or $75 per month. But there’s a 3 month free trial.
What!!!!!!

I think you mean BC, or maybe sarcasm doesn't translate well in text?

I followed the instructions to renewable location and connectivity. When I went to the setting in the car all the submenu items I expected to see are totally gone. I guess I will drive it around and see if it returns. This is a bit nuts.

So got an update last night. It says they kept your saved radio stations. NOPE that didn’t happen
What did happen is my range dropped 30 miles ( don’t remember %). Does the update use the high voltage battery?

No, the update you posted about does not use the HVB. It uses the LVB.

Lots of people have reported that the update that fixes the radio preset issue reset the radio presets in their cars. You are not alone.

It has never done that to my car. All it used to do is forget what I was listening to last. OTA 5.1.1 worked fine and remembered what I was listening to, so it appears the update you referenced may have fixed what they said it fixed. Maybe. Need a few more updates to confirm.
