I guess they send the same updates every year? I know I've gotten those release notes at least twice ?

Also, good work not mentioning "EA" in the subject so there aren't 5 pages of debate over NDA...

I don’t think ford bothers anymore with the release notes. They just randomly choose a previous update and recycle the same notes in the new update.

Also I’m surprised the EA police haven’t arrived to the scene yet.

Havent you heard? The workers are on strike. they are just recycling old updates. Like reruns on tv when the writers goes on strike.

What do we think will come next?
IPMA, IPC, PCM
My guess is either powertrain or IPC. Then the sixth update will probably the the actual BlueCruise 1.3 camera/steering/radar update that will be the big one.

Anyone think the update process will markedly improve in the next gen Mach-E? It's kind of nuts how many updates it takes to go to BC 1.3. I realize there are valid technical reasons for them doing it this way under the current architecture, but certainly the next vehicle could be architected to download bigger patches that update multiple modules at once, etc.

I do remember seeing an interview with the Ford CEO where he says they outsourced too much stuff and that's part of the software use update complexity that they are now dealing with, so I do hope this will improve significantly.

Yup, the Automotive Release Note Writers Guild is on strike. They want greater pay, hours, and assurance that the software engineers won't write the notes themselves.

Last time it ended with another GWM and APIM update right?

Yes, GWM was last previously because that was needed to activate the BlueCruise subscription, but this time it's different because the BC subscription is already active. We just need to put the new IPMA software on it and it should work. This is an upgrade rather than a clean install.
