As @Murse-In-Airy will tell you, I'm not great at hardware fixes. I'd rather the dealer work on this one. I sure hope this is an easy one for them.
I could have looked at that for you Saturday. Wouldn’t have even needed a tool. ?

Heidi is getting a new eye tracking camera this week because she was getting that warning. It she was also getting “Blue Cruise Not Available” and “Driver monitor camera fault.”
all these faults pop up when the connection to the front facing camera above the rearview mirror is spotty as all these features, and adaptive cruise control rely on this camera. In my experience, there was nothing wrong with the camera, just a kink in the coax that strained the connection and 'blinked' the signal when hitting a sharp bump like railroad tracks or bad concrete seams.

After I had the windshield recall done I started getting all the error messages with the camera. That was around 20K miles. I pulled the rearview cover down an messed with the cable, it was actually I the right spot but I still moved it around. Problems went away and now at 48K they have come back.

apparently the mini-coax cables are notoriously fragile, and the connectors appear to be 'unsuitable' for a vibration environment. My bet is the first section of cable needs to be replaced. I'd hope there is some better type of connector, but I am unfamiliar with camera/sensor/coax stuff.

At the time, I didn't know it was going to happen again. Should have mentioned it to you but I was concerned about parking everyone and such. I will tell the dealer but they tend to not believe me even though with the Mach-e, I am usually right thanks to this forum.

Guess I will be calling my dealer tomorrow.

I have gotten this message pop up three times in the last two weeks.

ME_Error_20230909.jpeg

The first two times, turning the car completely off and back on cleared the error. Yesterday it popped up again while driving but, after a restart, I got this message: Pre-Collision Assist Not Available and it comes up immediately now when I try to engage Adaptive Cruise Control.

I have never gotten the Front Camera Fault message (yet).
Good morning, Scott! I would be glad to help you out with these warning message concerns. Just shoot us a direct message with your VIN and dealer name/location, and I'll get right on it. To send a DM, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". Thank you!

Mine is at the dealer as we speak for the same issue. Front Camera Fault and Pre Collision not available. Also, there is a toggle sound when I use 1 Pedal coming from the back of the car. I used to get it when the car was dirty, wash it, it went away. This time it has been on for good. This apparently is not a new thing, will be very disappointed if it takes over a couple of days to fix.

I dropped me car off for this reason last Thursday. The camera fault and pre-collision assist warnings first started occurring occasionally, sometimes it occurred while BlueCruise was engaged and let me tell you, driving with one pedal feature turned on relaxed, when all of a sudden the front camera acts up and disengages BlueCruise while traveling 70mph on a busy highway IS DANGEROUS!!!!!

Anywho, the front camera fault permanently came on a couple of weeks ago which disables most safety features. I checked the wiring and found no issue. So my car sets at the dealer waiting to be fixed. Purchased the car about six weeks ago, have not enjoyed BlueCruise with my limited 90 day trial and suspect that Ford is going to try and charge me $2100 for a new subscription despite the car being a Job 1 2021 which only has BC 1.0.

My car has now been at the dealer 9 times for the front camera, pre-Collison issue. Message from dealer today is that they installed a new component/module but the vehicle needs further work. Waiting for an engineer from Ford to go there. Opened a case with Ford several months ago. I was told my car did not meet criteria for repurchase, but was also told they didn't have to give me a reason why it didn't qualify. NYS lemon law stated I had to have my car in 4 times within the first 18,000 miles. My first visit was at 17,900

I believe BC was available for free for 2 years for the customers who bought the car at 2021. So the subscription you will be paying that makes sense as mine will be expiring in Dec 2023 as well. But if we think $2100 for BC which still does not has Lane change yet does not makes sense to me. I have tried BC for 2 years and its not that accurate or close to Tesla auto pilot.

I think I wont buy subscription. Lets see...

You're almost right. BC was for 3 years for 2021 cars purchased with the Blue Cruise hardware installed and before BC was made available. Might have been for every 2021 but I am not certain. If I recall correctly, those owners will be offered their next 3 year subscription for the original price of $600. I have to verify that. I have until May of 2024 on my 3 years. IMO, if Ford wants to keep people subscribing to BC, 2 to 3 hundred/year for 3 years would do it. If I was to purchase a Mach-e now, I would opt out of BC at the current rate. It's great but not $700/year great.

Good afternoon. Could you privately message us with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this camera fault concern? Thanks!
