Preconditioning

I have my car to precondition at 4pm when I leave work, but it doesn't seem to work. Does the car have to be plugged in to precondition or does it need to be charged at work once to set it as a location? I know the preconditioning works because at home it has no problem in the morning.

There is a setting to enable preconditioning when not plugged in. I can't remember if it's in the app or sync4

You say in the morning it does not have a problem. What problem does it have if it does not precondition? I thought preconditioning was for faster charge rates?

Preconditioning the inside of the car - heating or cooling the cabin before you get in

There is no problem. Preconditioning the car turns on the ac or heat before you enter the car depending on your settings.

I still cant get the preconditioning to work if not plugged in. I haven't found any settings in the app or car.
