Good day ! I have a deposit on a Prem ER AWD. Living in Manitoba. I have a few questions, hoping owners that have lived through one of the coldest and snowyist winters in a long time, could help me with.
My daily commute is as follows. Car will sit in a heated garage at home. Plugged into 240v. I can precondition the car before i leave at 7am. Drive 50 km to work, where i cannot plug in. 8 hours later i drive the 50km back home. I figure 50% range reduction so 200km in the dead of winter.
Is that about accurate ?
How is the 5kw PTC heater in -30c ?
Generally, how has the MachE handled Manitoba ( or central Canada ) winters ?
Ground clearance doesnt seem to be the best, so does it turn into a snow plow ?
Finally, the car is sitting 2 hours away from my local dealer, and has been for a few weeks now. It was expected this week, but the salesman sent a screenshot early this week, and the status stated " Primary in transit " " secondary Delay-in transit hold " . with an end date of mar 14. Any ideas ?

I haven't received mine so can't comment from experience. I'm counting on a 50% decline in range for the winter as well.

Not Canada, but there’s a guy with a YouTube channel in northern Minnesota who has lots of videos out there about the cold and the MME. I’ve watched them all (as a fellow Minnesotan) and they are helpful for learning tips for driving, parking and garaging in really cold temps. His channel is called Up North Mike. I’d check it out.

As someone in Alberta who had similar questions, I remember this thread popping up and being a great read. I think it'll probably tell you just about everything you'd want to know about extreme winter driving in a MACH E.

Moving North from Waterloo. Ontario and awaiting delivery of Premium ER so this is of interest although I don't have to go to work every day, more like shopping 45/60 min away on my choice of days.

UpNorthMike is a good channel for information on the effect of cold weather on the Mach-E. Silverstones POV is another channel that is based in Calgary and has Mach-E videos.

Any update on your MME? Mine has the same status, and I can’t get any answers as to what’s going on with it.

Yup!!!
It's sitting in my garage.
It was diverted to somewhere in Saskatchewan.
Showed up without announcement on a Sat am before the dealer opened.
Covered in salt and rail dust.
Some minor transport paint damage.
Dealer is repairing.
Well worth the wait, and technically I didn't even put in the order.
I went in to buy a lighting and they said they had a mach e coming. So I put money down to hold it.
Having a blast!
