The biggest things are the dealer markup and the fact you’re floating 20k on the trade. Do your own thing but with that kind of debt I would reevaluate if you need a new car right now, but that’s just me

Maybe someone is downsizing from a $70K+ vehicle to a $60K vehicle, in order to live within his means? /s

GAP insurance policies don't reimburse carry over (or "Trade Payoff") balances.

Our local dealer made a pitiful low ball offer on the trade in. I ended up selling the car myself and we bought our MME from another dealer so they lost out on both ends!!

I mean you could choose to pay 1337.69 which is pretty awesome though.

I've never seen a trade in on paper that still had owed money, I was super confused at first how you had a trade in and ended up paying more than the cost of the car.

Just like the ads on the radio say "we'll pay off your trade no matter how much you owe" ??

Interesting responses thus far; some of them being hilarious.
To me, there are a few options the candidate can do here:
- as someone else stated, 'run away', i.e. do not take the deal
- pay the difference (around $20K), and purchase the Mach-E
- keep their current car

As others have stated:

1. $5K markup
2. $399 all weather mats that are already included in the msrp most likely
3. $489 tint is pretty high
4. Lol at $100 nitrogen fill
5. $699 doc fee is high
7. $41K trade allowance on a $60K trade payoff seems “odd” considering the current market. I guess it’s possible if you’re trading in a Maserati or something that’s beat to hell and really new.
8. The 60 month 0 down monthly payment indicates an APR of 7.09, which is bat shit crazy right now if you have decent credit or better. I would think even a 650 FICO would net better than that.

Lenders typically won't exceed a loan balance over 18% higher then the new car value. So there is a limit on the upside down trade you can pull off and this appears to exceed it. I doubt any lender would allow this without an insane interest rate. Please don't be this dumb, wait until you can afford something even better. The time is not now...

As much as I appreciate the feedback. I don't think name calling is required. One can convey their suggestions without that sort of tone.
