Anyone else have issues with updating the IPC module in FDRS? My dealer tech tried 7 or so times to update with the USB. An alternative was to update via Canbus. For anyone who updated with this method, how long did this process take?

If FDRS is trying to get you to use a USB, that means the file transfer is VERY LARGE relative to other module updates. One of the first IPMA transfers over canbus took several hours a few years ago.
Dealership might have access to a faster cable than the Mongoose+, but still USB is preferred.

Its the kind of thing where you kick it off and come back 1/2 day later to see the progress. Of course, it has to stay on the 12V power supply for the entire time too.

I just successfully updated the IPC module last week by USB flash drive on my ā€˜21 Job 2 MME. I had no problems, and it took maybe 15 minutes.

I suspect a problem with the flash drive your dealer is attempting to use. Either a poor quality drive or perhaps they didn’t format the drive to exFAT.

A CANBUS update will work, but could take many hours to complete.

Perhaps you want to try a different dealer? This is not rocket science, and if your dealer can’t do it, I’d really suspect a problem with the dealer.

Good luck!
