Is anyone else upset that they picked up their car in December and did not receive the price reduction. They were not sure when my car would arrive it was either late 2022 or early 2023. It arrived December 23, 2022. Then Ford reduced all the prices in January, but only made it retroactive to January 1st. So, I lost out on the price reduction by 10 days.

You should be thrilled you got yours without the tax credit restrictions!

I would gladly trade places with you.

Mine is so delayed that I may not get the full credit plus facing income cap.

I'd rather get no price difference and have the $7500 to spend this month than wait another year for a refund - maybe half credit if I don't get mine in time by the time IRS rules next month.

The ironic part is that you were probably excited that you got yours in December

My case precisely. Jan 1 or later and I get $0 tax credit.

'You should doublecheck about the tax credit. The IRS has reclassified the car to an SUV so the value is now 80,000.

That doesn’t help people that are over the income limit.
Yah, in 2022, there were no income caps.

In 2023, it's tougher to qualify.

I wish my order built in December 2022 was delivered in 2022.
Don't even care about the price reduction.
Would get to spend the $7500 this month instead of next year!

Are you an adult? I feel like an adult should understand when buying a car there is always the risk of the price changing either up or down after buying it. Especially with the IRS terms not set in stone and no one knowing what would happen come January 1, 2023. You wanted the car as soon as you could get it. You got it. You're the one who chose not to wait and see what would happen after January 1st.

These feelings used to come and go on a monthly basis when rebates showed up or expired every month.

It’s been a few years, but people seem to forget how far buying used to be.

In April 2016 I got a killer deal on a leftover 2015 Chevy SS. Almost 25% off MSRP. Was thrilled! I had to call a ton of dealers and ship it 500 miles.

Starting the next month and running most of 2016, Chevy offered 25% off MSRP on all 2016 Chevy SS……..

I could have gotten a 1 yr newer car for no hassle, and gotten the one I REALLY wanted (6 speed manual and pick my color) for the same as my leftover white automatic 2015.

Such is life. Still loved my car though. Worked out in the end since I paid 36k new and sold it to CarMax in 2021 for $45k!
