Question about Active Drive Assist

I know this is coming sometime later this year but I have a question about what hardware might be active that is not currently active.
I have been VERY impressed with the adaptive cruise control and specifically, the lane centering, when driving on the highway. You really just need to barely keep your hand on the wheel and the car practically drives itself around bends in the road.
However, on my 25 mile commutes to work this week, I've noticed a few places on the interstate where I will suddenly lose my "bubble" for no real reason which results in me drifting out of my lane. If I wasn't paying attention with my hand on the wheel, I could have drifted into another car or off the roadway.
So my question is what additional hardware or features might be activated that will help prevent this sort of thing from happening? Surely its not just turning off the "keep hands on wheel" warning.

It will use LIDAR mapped roads. Possibly improvements to the logic.

Just to be clear (because people seem to constantly ignore this point), in its current iteration, you are supposed to keep your hands on the wheel. In this iteration, and the upcoming hands-off iteration, you are responsible for the control of the vehicle.

I don’t think we actually know whether any additional hardware will be activated, other than swapping the eye-nanny for the hand-nanny. Supposedly, the existing suite of sensors should work better by being able to rely upon mapped highway data in addition to the visual cues.

I haven't decided yet whether that’s worth $600 (for just a 2yr subscription, btw). In either scenario, you’d better keep your eyes on the road. This is not true autonomous driving and never will be.

This is the first I've heard of the 2 year subscription model. I thought it was a one time charge. Do you have a link to where you found the subscription info?
I read somewhere else that the subscription is 3 years.

It might also employ the additional cameras that are used for Active Park Assist and/or the 360 surround view, since that option and Active Drive Assist Prep Package seem to always be bundled together.

And of course the driver attention monitoring camera. I tried covering that up and it didn't result in any sort of visible warnings to me while I was driving. But we know it will do so with ADA enabled.

I don't think any new hardware will be enabled. The main thing that will be different is that the car will be able to load map data of highways around you. It will then use that high quality mapping data combined with the camera systems it already uses. This will help the car know where lanes are exactly and stay in the correct lane.

Right now without the map data, its just guessing on what its doing, based on what it can see from a camera. So if that camera gets glare, lines are faint and can't be read, or a bunch of other factors, it can make some mistakes. The lidar map data will help it tremendously.
