I was fortunate to just wake up one morning in April and decide I wanted a Mach-E and found a Grabber Blue FE about 3 hours away at a dealership and went and bought it. I Love it. We have put in a Reservation for the Lightning (on opening night).
However, I love the Mach-E so much, I have "Ordered" a GTPE. My Order Request Date is 08/23/2021. The next day, someone from the dealership called and said, yes we have your order - "Do you want us to order it for you" Almost like asking if we were going to go steady, I asked for some assurances regarding Dealer markup and we were all good.
On the website, it says "Order sent to Dealer" CHECK. "Order Accepted by Dealer" CHECK. The only thing left is "Scheduled for Production".
My question is this - If I've decided I want a different color, is that something I need to let the dealer know now? Before I get something that says, "Scheduled for Production"?
And Finally, I've been watching all the order date, production date threads and I have been trying to keep up with them and try to figure them out - but it is hard. Those who have been through the process - What can I realistically expect in terms of hearing from Ford regarding a production date for a GT order placed at the end of August. Sometime this year? And if I don't hear anything by some certain date, then it will be a 2022 model?
The main question is about changing the color. The rest is just curiosity.
